So I told my son, who has been on a RM125 for 2 years, if. Wins the Schoolboy class this year I will get him a 250f. He loves the RM and how well it turns. Does anyone have info if Suzuki is planning on an update for their 250f? We get a li5le support from Suzuki and it would be nice to stay with them.

I doubt it, but there isn't anything wrong with the current bike if you ask me. The contingency is awesome so if he's doing good you can easily buy any parts you want to upgrade anything you don't like about the bike.

New suspension components, but I'm not sure if it's getting any other updates. I saw the components being tested on what looked to be the current chassis. 17 will be a big year for Suzuki.

I know of two 2012 RMZ250's that grenaded before they hit the 30hr mark. Both weren't ridden by rev limiter kings and weren't abused...

It wasn't top end either. It was tranny...

I know of 4 people who have owned 2012 RMZ250s (including myself) and all have been brilliant.
One even went to 90 hours on the top end before replacing it. No issues with any of them.

I think it was the 13s that had a gearbox issue, as one mate had his fixed under warranty for it and quite a few stories over on thumpertalk about the issue.

Friend who works for suzuki says all new 250f. They also said the same last year and they did make changes but not all new in my book for your fyi.

my 2012 rmz250 bought new kept going in and out of gear between 2nd and 3rd.
They fixed it for 13 is the rumour.
They turn and handle so well I would get another newer one in a heart beat!

Suzuki's have shitty build quality.
I have 3 in my garage so I'm a fan but that's just the way it is.

Get ready for the Suzuki fanboys to come in and tell you that you don't know what you're talking about. The truth hurts.

I had an 08 450, I liked it in spite of it's imperfections.

Hey, they're no worse than a Kawi and lots of guys love them too.

2010 - 2012 were prone to false neutrals. 2013 got a whole new transmission.

Does anyone know when the first round of the Japanese series is? It should be coming up soon. Transworld always gets spy pics. I always look forward to seeing the new bikes.

Biggest myth going.

91' RM125, '00 RM250 (ok that carb was a nightmare!!!), 04 DRZ400 ( almost 50k and ridden hard), 03 RM65, 05 RM85, 08 RM125, 08 RM250

All these bikes I have (or had) are/were beyond reliable. Not one mechanical DNF ever or leaving me stranded in the bush . I rode Honda's for 9 years and use to say the same about Suzuki's...I was naive and just going with the hearsay bullshit that was being said. Then I bought one and realized it was all a bunch of crap that had continued on from the mid 80's when they DID have quality control issues. Aside from their bolts/ fasteners, and the STUPID vulcanized grip on the throttle tube, the bikes are solid.

To the OP, I'd bet on the '16 250 getting the same changes the '15 450 had (frame, kick starter, suspension etc). Awesome bikes!!!!

I just run across the fact that everyone has bad luck with a brand. My bad luck brand was Suzuki's on 85s, just couldn't keep them together. I've also spent quite a bit of time working on a friends late model 250F and 450F that were quite tempermental. But now I have an acquaintance that quite literally just rides a rmz450 and takes the absolute worse care of it. This bike is raced every weekend and is regularly crossing the finish line first in the over 30 pro class down here, but no problems... outside of what his massive crashes cause.

Hi, I had an opportunity to ride a 2014 RM-Z250. It was not set up for my weight at all and I was still impressed enough with the motor and chassis to go out and buy one. I also have a RM-Z 450. Had the 250 suspension set for me via Factory Connection (235 with gear on, I know I'm heavy for a 250F smile ). I opted to get the Yoshimura kit which I felt added a ton of value to the purchase.
I've been riding 450's since 2005 and enjoy the torque they produce however, that RM-Z 250 chassis I felt, was really hard to beat especially after getting the suspension dialed in. I have a Yoshimura RS-4 exhaust and a K&N air filter. Really woke up the motor across the range. I run the stock or white coupler depending on conditions.
I put a lot of time on a 2005 RM-Z450 with zero reliability issues. So far my 2014 RM-Z 250 has been good to me. I am a Vet (B skills, C fitness) rider so I'm not on the rev-limiter like the young ones are.
I bought this bike thinking "what if the 2015 is all new, will I be missing out on some new technology or performance" Honestly, once I set it up I never thought twice. Same goes for the thought of the other brands being "better" (which are all great in their own regard).
IMO, once you prep the bike and properly set the suspension your way ahead. And don't mod out the reliability of the motor.
Hope this helps smile

Looks like they changed a lot. Just not the plastics, lol. That is kinda strange.

Oh man, can not wait to see some new Suzukis.

And then see Bubba, Roczen and Baggett race them for a whole season. While I'm dreaming, could we please include an actual 250 effort (support, factory, I'm not picky) so we actually get some yellow in the 250 SX main events?

Why is it taking so long for Suzuki to get bikes out for testing?

Were they 30 hours with the oem original factory oil still in it, and a dirty air filter?

I had a suzuki that functioned well. Only problem was the fasteners and the threads in the aluminum were soft as whale shit. Bike ran strong all while I had it.

When is the 16' 250F supposed to be released here in the states? Anyone know?

And there goes Jeffro. One of God's own prototypes. A super high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.
