2016 350 sxf versus 250 xc

Hi all, I have a 16 350 sxf that I now race mostly off-road in Texas. I set it up with a Rekluse auto clutch and others stuff for the trail. Just rode 18 KTM 250 xc. at a KTM ride day and loved it. Question is, there is a local seller wanting to trade his 16 250 xc for a 350. I am competitive in my class (old fart vet amateur). The 350 is easy to ride but suspension is crap. Been playing with shims on forks and shock. Still not happy. Catch is the 18 that I rode had the Aer48 fork and this 16 250 xc has 4CS. Valving is different xc versus sxf. Anyone race these two in off-road? I may rarely race MX. I got a 96 CR250 to race vintage MX and may use it for all my vet mx racing.

The 16 250 2-stroke is not the same frame or engine as the 2018. It got updated in 2017. The 16 wont have the counterbalanced engine and has the previous generation ergos and geometry.

In other words, if you go with the 16, expect it to feel different than the 2018 you rode.

I have a 2016 250 XC. It’s awesome. Vibrates a lot compared to the 350 I had (2012).

I’ve riden the 2016 350 as well and it’s really good.

The XC has 6 gears and really tall gearing In 3rd-6th

Try it out if you can,

The 4CS sucked tho. Put my 2012 350 forks on it, they were done by Racetech and I sold the 350 with the 4CS garbage

I have a '16 250xc. The forks are off my '12 200xc though. You're welcome to ride it if you can make it anywhere near San Antonio.

The 4cs that came on the bike were totally redone by Enzo. I would have used them but they were set up for a 160lb O60 rider. I'm a 190lb A rider. I had to do one race with the soft 4cs and it was good enough for fourth place which is about my average finish.
