Wouldn't surprise me. I think the economy and 4 stroke costs are finally hitting home with the Big 4! Or hitting Japan that is.

probably a true rumor, because it would make much more sense to keep something like that a secret as opposed to letting everyone know about and build excitement and anticipation of it...

What will everyone say when this magical efi 2 stroke weighs 235 lbs due to the battery and electronics and has a price tag of $8400?

if you think that a freshly developed two stroke will weigh 235lbs regardless of EFI, i want a big bag of whatever you are on.

i'll bet it weighs 210 tops. the 150sx KTM weighs 199lbs if im not mistaken.

I doubt this happens, I don't think they can even sell them in California ( CARB ) and that is where the majority of them get shipped.

I'll believe it when I see it.......but if it did happen look for a rule change.......because Honda usually writes the rules in motorcycle racing.

Honda has stated that it will not produce any more two-stroke engines for any vehicle, period.

Never happen.Honda calls themselves a fourstroke company for every product they make.To do an about face would be like admitting you were wrong-and you know how often Honda does that.

A fuel infected two stroke will have LOWER emissions than a four stroke.

who knows, now that the old guy is dead honda might see the light.

If ktm really starts to kick their ass with 2s sales, or the cheater rule is rescinded, game over.

Didn't they do it when they introduced the Elsinore ?

Long time ago, though (but Soïchiro was still alive and well, then)...

I think we'll eventually se a FI or DI 2 stroke dirt bike but I wouldn't expect Honda to lead the charge. More likely KTM or KTM using Husaberg as a test bed imo.

Yea... how do they go from "we're pulling out of racing if you allow 2 strokes" to "Lets make 2 strokes!"?

If they do end up making one I won't buy it based on that fact alone. A bunch of hypocrites.

I'm hearing rumours, from more than one place, of Honda having something special in GPs next year.

That's what makes me think it's a slim chance but maybe they could justify it if they would use some of the super efficient/clean technology they swept under the rug when they dropped all their two-stroke development.

Its already being tested... Part of the reason the RC valved motors had "issues" was they were designed with traction control and with FI in the future. Problem was the CPU needed to complete the project just hadn't been perfected and wasn't cost effective. Then...

How quickly people forget it was Honda that was leading the charge to clean two stroke technology back in the nineties. Vision and directions change as technology develops. Honda as a company has always believed that. They aren't too proud to admit they were wrong.

They also said they wouldn't go back to single pipe on the 250f but they sneakily managed to switch back
