If an offer is too good to be true then it usually is.
They are cheap because there not very good bikes with a very slow engine.

Thats so far from being true. On the dyno it pumped more HP than the 2013 YZF and i rode one on a demo day, they are super smooth that cut corners sharper than most bikes ive ridden.

I saw some going for $4500 in Ottawa
I was too late though.
Just keep in mind it's gonna be really hard to sell.
However if I could find a 12 or 13 CR125/144 I would grab it up; but I haven't been able one here or in Michigan.

Shouldn't KTM have to provide parts for those bikes as well?

I rode a couple of the Dual Sport/Enduro models a few years back, 511 and 450 I think. They weren't bad. I could live with one, especially for the price they were closing them out at.

Not true at all. They are a good bike and the engine is a little underpowered but i wouldn't call it very slow.

KTM does have all the old back stock of Husky parts. We just ordered a kick start lever and a throttle cable for a mid 90's WR.

Let us know how long it takes to get it. I sold my Italian Husky because I had my doubts about future parts availability from KTM. I know they have to provide parts for a certain amount of years, but everything went on backorder almost instantly once KTM took control of it. Hopefully they hold up to their end of the bargain.

To the OP, what do you consider an offer that you couldn't refuse? They are great bikes, I liked mine, but resale as horrible, parts availability questionable and they are a bit on the quirky side. If you have a great Husky dealer nearby who stocks parts and has some experience with the pre-KTM bikes you'll have a big advantage there.

Just my experience of the bike but if it works for you that's great.

Its very reliable for a high performance 4-stroke.So far I only needed sprockets and a rad hose, tires, brakes and a couple of levers. Shipped same day. mine is a MY13 310R and is street legal. Its not so good on the street so I also bought a 650 Strada. For the price you cant beat these bikes.

Mine was a 2010 CR125, which shared a lot of the same components as the 250 you're looking at. The stock suspension is good once you get it set up, KYB SSS forks and the Sachs shock is no slouch either. These bikes handle amazing, I'm surprised that they didn't get better magazine write-ups.

You need to run a heavier than normal shock spring on these bikes to get the chassis balanced, I'm guessing the linkage ratio is weird or something. I needed a 7.1kg shock spring to get my sag numbers correct, while a 6.4 works for me on most other bikes.

Good call man, my father did the exact same thing.. Was going to get one of the new 2014.5 (KTM) Huskys, but ended up getting a 2014 TXC310R and a 2013 Strada as a paclage deal for not much more than what the 2014.5 Husky would''ve cost. We absolutely love the Strada!

That is one sweet TC! I wish the 250 2-stroke would have worked better, but the 125's worked well in that chassis.
