If someone had told me at the beginning of this season that with 6 rounds to go Ryan Villipoto would be walking away with the championship, I would have said "Totally possible"...

If someone had told me at the beginning of the season that with 6 rounds to go, we'd be watching a race with no Reed, Canard, Dungey, or Stewart...I would have said "You got to be kidding, right? ALL OF THOSE GUYS OUT? Really? ugh...."

With all the hype that this season brought, I can't help but feel let down. 2011 was great from start to finish..Each week who was going to win was truly a toss-up. Kind of bummed that 2012 has turned out this way (in my opinion...) by the worst possible circumstances...Riders out with serious injuries. I don't think that anyone could have predicted that we'd only see one race this year with the "big 5" crossing the finish line....Regardless of who your favorite may be, anyone who enjoys competitive racing wouldn't have wanted it to turn out this way.

I'm glad that the lites classes have provided awesome racing on both coasts so far..But main events have lost their appeal to me at this point....Anyone else share the same sentiment?

There are injuries every year but this is just ridiculous. Reed, Dungey, Steward, Grant(now back), Canard, Short, Hansen, Tedesco, Morais. The list goes on and on. Just crazy.

Letdown? Were you asleep through the first half of the SX season? And there's still an outdoor season to go.

At least the lites class is still interesting even though I think one of the "best of the rest" riders in the 450s could sneak a win before the season is over.

It was looking like one of the best seasons of all time and probably was the best half season on record since I have been watching, but has ended in a big anticlimax, about the only thing that could bring it back to life now is Villopoto getting arrested in Canada and then not being able to return to the US until Vegas!

Hopefully JS and Dungey are ready to go outdoors and BT has Reeds speed (Totally possible) and they all stay upright for 12 rounds.

Huge letdown... I can barely make myself watch the races now. I basically just watch it for the Lites then shut the TV off.

Bring on the outdoors!

Letdown nothing. It's a battle of attrition. Our race season is just starting, and I'll be amazed if I'm still standing for the final race.

I'm already waiting for the outdoors. The 250 class should be good with Bagget, Barcia, Musquin, Rozcen, Tomac and Wilson. All damn good outdoor riders.

With the way Durham is riding in SX, I reckon he will be good outdoors as well. Don't forget about Bogle either.

I still have hope for the outdoors. Especially since it looks like we will see Stewart out there....I was referring to the SX season, and it's current state coming to Toronto. CBS gave the 2011 season the title of "Greatest Monster Energy Supercross season EVER"...And it arguably was. Right down to the last race there was a chance that the title could go to 3 different guys. As of right now, Villipoto would have to have to miss the remainder of the season for anyone to catch him in the points chase. The potential for this season to be even more exciting than '11, and how it has actually unfolded deserves the "Biggest Monster Energy Supercross Letdown EVER" title in my opinion. Again..my opinion.

And no, I wasn't asleep at all during the first half, in fact the opposite. I was staying up until 1:30 am watching the west coast mains because each week was getting better and better, the red plate was changing hands..and the racing was fun to watch. Now we've been over a month without seeing anything buy RV atop the podium. Yes, it's cool to see guys like Brayton, Milsaps, and Windham make the podium..But let's be honest, they aren't at the level of the "big 5" week in and week out..And they have little to no chance of taking home the title. The lites season has been the saving grace ....

Yep, both will do good. Maybe not title threat just yet, but moto wins for sure.

Come on. Are you serious? The first half of the season started out okay, but now it IS a let down because it's depressing when so many riders get hurt. I don't know what you're definition of an exciting season is, but it ain't having half the field go out with serious injuries. Sad

it just makes r.c.'s, *at least 1 championship per year *win streak more impressive.

Yeah, I'm serious. Look at the topic title. Then realize we're only a third of the way through 2012. It's a little early to put that title on the whole year.

2010 sucked way more than this though.. At least it's RV winning and not RD Tongue

And I do believe the Outdoors will be awesome this year, all 4 classes should be exciting.. The only run away I predict will be Herlings in the MX2 class, other than that multiple guys have a genuine shot at glory.

My bad. I thought the title said SX 2012 was a let down, not all of 2012. Let's hope outdoors is great.

Its still exciting to me. I just pick another rider to follow/cheer on when guys get hurt. Right now Millsaps and Bogle. I really don't care who wins the races. I'm a fan of the sport, not any specific rider(s). As long as there are 20 riders on the gate I'm good.

Very boring and rediculous im afraid. Who wants to see whindam and Brayton battling. My gosh, put me to sleep already. I dont even think i'll watch the 450s. Ill wait for Barcia to get in the lead and turn it off from there..

I think we will see some good racing still. I think some other guys will step it up now. Besides Villopoto the speeds are now more closely matched than ever amongst the riders.

The supercross season so far has been a major let down. Last year was alot better.

Sh*t happens

How soon we all forget the almost 15 years where you knew who was going to win before the first race. At least this year we didnt know until several races in.

It is a real shame, esp with the buzz and interest there seems to be about the sport at the moment. It needs the stars on the line.

Last year was incredible. Crazy they all got through the season in one piece when you think about it.

Yes we all would like to have the top guys still competing in the 450 class, 250 class is always entertaining.
Plus having the races live for the last 6 weeks has been great.
I am enjoying this season and it is far from over, the Nationals haven't even started.

The spectator and TV viewer numbers fortunately don't bear that out. .

Could of been GOAT season now its all about the BLOAT( biggest letdown of all time). Wonder if RV is really stoked about the way it went down. He seems too competitive to like this.
