Edited Date/Time 1/25/2012 2:48am
New bike time, was looking at ebay, bored, got to looking. Did Honda not change anything on the 010 450? Everything I can find says its the same bike, Honda website has a compare deal, there isnt even bold new graphics! Or was there a change and I missed it, or its not listed?

If I understand the jungle drums correctly, they're cleaning out the rest of the '09 models before they announced the 2010.

I know a dealer that was dying... there is no more money out there now than 12 months ago. 8 grand is not going to sell shit.

500cc 2 stroke - aluminum frame..... $5500. They would sell a zillion. I would buy one this week.

If they sold enough 500 2t's when they made them they'd still be making them now - end of!

I feel dumber just by reading what you two wrote....... Are those sentences flashbacks from your dad kicking you out of the house?

If you have one bucket that holds two-gallons of water and one bucket that holds one-gallon of water, how many buckets do you have?

Not so at my house.
We just sold one of my kids 450's and will be replacing it with a 250 smoker.
I can't wait.
Might do the same with my 450...

Hell yeah who doesn't want to pay 8 grand for an over weight POS four banger hell if they were only 9 grand a piece I would go out and buy two in a heart beat. So when they decide to give up the ghost at the same time I will be spending give or take 4 grand to fix them both. Sounds like a hell of a deal.

2010 On the Honda site looks identical to the 2009.

Honda cut all the ATV factory support, cutting cost in other racing. I am not for certain but I suspect even BNG is a stretch to sell to the Senior Bean Counters.

No, they're coming back. Was just at Speedworld in Phoenix. Fastest guys there were both on 2-strokes. One was a brand new KTM, the other was an older KX, they were killing it! It was so sweet! So many 4-strokes getting owned! Loved that sound, smell, and berm/rut shredding skills those 2-strokes have.

It's really too bad, because the '09 450 really has a ton of potential, but there were a few areas that needed addressing. Since it looks like they basically just put a 2010 sticker over their unsold 2009s....they won't likely be getting any of my money this year.

234 pounds wet usnt over weight my friend.

I am so sick of that cry about strokers, they weight a ton! some do, alot dont. Back in the nostalgia days, you bought a 250 2 smoke and off the floor it weight in the mid 220s.

I have rode a 250 smoker, last week, and even rode a 125... I dont know how we rode those as fast as we did! lol

The 2 things I do miss though, the sound of a smoker on the pipe, and the sweet smell of them, nothing was as good!

2 guys in every region aren't going to start a revolution. It's over, and this is coming from someone that rides a 2 stroke. I rode a 250F all last week, and while it wasn't as amazing as a 450, it was much better than a 125. There is a reason why the cahnage is happening. It's not a government/industry plot;it's becuase a four stroke is easier to ride and go faster on, so in turn it is more fun to the average person.

I don't know of anyone who rides motocross (more then once) because it is easy.

Yeah,, easier is popular for most America. I heard the golf course down the street from me is enlarging the holes to 8".... Just kidding. They wouldn't do that as easy makes for less challenge which makes for less personal reward and less fun.
And why play a guitar... all of those pesky frets and strings... just buy one of those dumb guitar hero games and jam like Kieth Richards with the stones..."easier"...

I don't buy this point one bit.. not in my world...

Gotta love the $8,000.00 price tag a new bike. Thats why I just picked up this heavy ass 194 pound turd for $1,300.00. Call me a cheap ass. Bike runs great a 144 or 153 kit in the works later for now, just installed new brakes, sprocket, chain and a DOMA pipe and silencer set up, as well had the suspension done up.

I'll call you smart. Hey why didn't you get a new 2010 CRF? According to the brochures... every year they are lighter and faster and better suspended.... since 1982... shit they should float like a dirigible by now and rip out of corners like they run on methane and have Velcro for tires. .... Cut the head to achieve .038" squish, run 50/50 Race leaded/pump for crank and ring life and keep a fresh piston and rings in it... Oh,,, move stator plate 1mm fore and aft according to track length.. I digress,, nice bike,,, and remember,, your dollar just voted.

Nice looking bike, 2004 model? By the way, I bought my oldest son a new 2001 RM125 for X-mas back then and had it done up really nice for him. Super light, handled like it was on rails and with the engine mods it flat out hauled. But he stayed on my ass till I got rid of it for a sweet 2004 CRF 250 when they first came out. His 01 RM looked cleaner and way tricker than the one in your pic there when we got rid of it. He just had to have the 4 stroke though..........Oh, wait................

Flashbacks are 2-strokes.
Look @ peoples posts on here saying how there two stroke owned people on there 4-strokes.
Look around the world in nearly all off-road series 4-strokes are king.
Also look @ these posts on here.

'01 and up RM 125's have the biggest grin factor of any bike ever made.
I had an '02 and it was probably the most fun bike I've ever owned.

2 or 4-stroke I don't care. I may ride my 74 Elsinore at a vintage race one weekend and my 2009 KTM 450SXF at a mx the next. I love my KTM, but if someone made a 360 or 400 2-stroke in a modern chassis, I'm in. A 500AF Service Kawasaki would be nice I'm sure, but it's still a big handful. People say how heavy the 450s are, but the last Kawasaki KX250 I had was about 233 wet without gas. This is about the same as my 450 KTM.

That's exactly it.....A guy decides he wants to get into riding dirtbikes either offroad or MX and goes out to ride a 125 or 250 two stroke to start with. We're talking about the averaged sized adult in his .....let's say 20's. The two strokes are very difficult to learn on if you've never ridden one before. Throw a 4 stroke in the mix and the same rider has no problems learning how to ride as the power isn't as abrupt. We 2 stroke guys are a dying breed those of us that grew up on them I had 20 plus years on them before switching over to the 4's for the last 5 years....now Im back....again. Those of us who know how to effectively ride them have no problems and actually have more fun on one those who are just getting into the sport learn easier on 4 strokes and never look back..................thats why 90% of trail bikes were/are 4 strokes.

On their website Yamaha's claimed "wet weight" for the 2010 is 245 lbs.

Honda's claimed curb weight* on their 09 CRF450R is 234.8 lbs.

2010 CRF450R updates:

"At the heart of the 2010 CRF450R, new ECU programming and fuel-injection settings improve throttle response even further, while the 449.7cc liquid-cooled motor also benefits from a new engine auto-decompressor system for easier kick-starting. Further revisions include the HRC fuel-injection tool now able to be attached without removing the tank and new seals on the front forks with improved valving and oil quantity to give a more planted feel and provide a smoother ride across rough terrains. Meanwhile, the rear shock now features an updated piston and a re-designed compression adjuster for improved damping."

2 strokes are cool and everything....ok I said it.... for you guys who just can't let go....It makes me wonder how much of a rider you really are or how much you ride.

The 4 strokes are so far ahead that when I ride a 250 2 stroke I swear I will never get back on one. I have to try it every so often to see if I still feel the same.

Maybe new technology will bring them back....anything is possible.
