Recovered!!

I got it back last night in Atlantic City. Still in good condition. They tore off my graphics, removed the bar pad, handgaurds and holeshot device button. Everything else is in tact and not broken. I lucked out big time.

Very sorry. I hope you had some insurance.

That is the one I would have chosen, too. Good luck finding the jerks!

Man that was a painful thread title to come across. Best of luck to you buddy. Hopefully the guys who took it are career-scumbags and the lifted prints will yield something.

Same exact thing happened to me this last Christmas. I found my bike for sale on Craigslist a couple months later in the same town it got stolen from but long story short, the frame got swapped so the cops said "not your bike" and wouldnt help me any further.

I seriously hope you get your bike back, thieves piss me off like no other. That thing is unique, in comparison to most bikes, so it shouldnt be too hard to spot out. I hope the thieves are stupid enough to get themselves caught and pay the price for what theyve done.

No insurance because "That can't happen to me".

There was a jetski stolen from a marina right down the street last week, which I found out today in my travels, similar deal lifted right off a trailer and into the back of a truck. They haven't found it yet.

There's a shady apartment complex about a mile away, I went and hung signs up stating theres a $1000 reward and about 3 hours later they were all torn down so I know where i'll be driving through alot these next few months.

Dan that sucks, look at the enduro ECEA board You might have to register to log on to members only area, also some law enforcement officers are on this site too., a thread of recovered stolen bikes inner city Camden.

Cops didn't help, but owner kept up drive byes and reward posters to take matters into his own hands and with his truck cut off the " Democrat hood rat" on his way to vote for obama and recovered one bike and got leads on the other.

Apts and inner city types are the answer, kill em' all!

Check local tracks , pawn shops, ebay, craigs list that sucks dude! Why wouldn t you have insurance on a $8000 item? not adding insult to injury but i ' m in law enforcement and see so much theft and fraud you have to have insurance to cover your a** sucks but true. Keep in touch with the reporting officer for other reports like yours maybe they can narrow the area down where these bikes are being taken. Good Luck man that sucks

If you do make sure you get the second edition of them. MXA tested the originals and said they easily cut the cable with a pair of dykes and the locking carabiner was weak. They were supposed to be coming out with a revised design with heavier gauge cable and stronger locks.

Hindsight is 20/20 there's a lot I should have done differently and will do in the future, such as insuring my bikes. Unfortunately I was in the "that won't happen to me" mode and didn't insure them. I'm insuring my other bike tomorrow and will insure anything I get in the future.

I feel for you man. Here in Mass we can't get a dirt-bike insurance I have been told (and Geico said so on their homepage).

Craigslist is a good tip. Craiglook to search for you bike in more than one area...

http://craiglook.com/

You didn't ask but mentally, I suggest you should assume you are toasted because then only good things can happen. It's like better to suffer once than do it bit by bit every day.

I got a Porsche 911 stolen 10 years ago, and it wasn't insured because the insurance companies didn't do that on these types of cars without alarm, and clear sheet after inspection (our inspection in Sweden are pretty anal compare to the US). I was just putting the car together (restoring it), it was just painted and welded for 4k and took it for a test drive or two (it was legal, since I was insured for collision). Some cumchuggler of course saw that it was in rather good condition while I passed him somewhere, so he took the license plate number and stole it some days later. I found out the day after and felt, well I have already restored it for 10k (plus what I bought it for), and it will probably cost another 5k to make it good, so I almost felt relieved in a strange way. I had restored that car for some years...

Then the cops called some days later and said they have found the car! Smile I was terrified to see if it was wrecked, but it was in good condition, they only stole the targa roof and damage a window, the stearing look etc...

So I went from whatever, lives goes on to what a pleasant surprise! Smile

Last night someone stole an ATV off the back of a truck in a luxury condo setup right around the corner... I went and talked to them and the cops when they were there and told them I thought my bike was stolen by people in a certain apartment complex and that my flyers were ripped down. The guy who lost the ATV went driving through a couple hours later and found some parts called the cops who confiscated a quad and a dirtbike. I went to the police station thinking they got it turned out to be an old xr100.

So I went back into this apartment complex and talked to the shadiest looking people supposedly they are going to call me with info. I was stolen by people back there, but I think it has been taken somewhere else. One kid mentioned Atlantic City.

Heres to hoping but the quad and dirtbike had already been taken apart a little bit, so mine is probably in 1000 peices

Sorry about your bike. Hope you find it and the f*cks who stole it. I would not invest in straps like these. Get something that cant just be cut in a matter of seconds.
