Did I correctly hear DC on DMXS radio commenting on homologation issues with the required 400 bikes due to Yamaha delaying it release because there are so many previous year models sitting on the dealer floors?

It'd be pretty funny if they turned up at A1 and couldn't race...

But they'll get it sorted... Yamaha will take the financial hit if nothing else...

does it really matter when the stock bikes will be available in the dealerships when the top pro's are already racing them? It's not like you could even obtain 60% of the stuff on the top factory bikes anyways so im not sure what the point of that is.

Factory rule from 86... It's to make sure the bikes being run are production based... ie frames, cases, swingarm and basic dimensions,.... supposedly to keep it fair but I bet ya Jame's bike will be way better than Joe Johnson who kits his up at the aftermarket shop... it aint fair you are right!

If it was as bad as what DC was saying on DMXS, ie yamaha still has loads of 09s on the dealer floors all yamaha would have to do is take that hit and get the 2010's on the floor...

doesn't matter anyway, there is ages till then and it is only 400 units for the homologation rule...

That factory rule is plain stupid. With the 450 drama going on, it's obvious the peak in terms of controllable engine power is achieved. All it takes is money to get you up to the good bikes. I'd rather see some real factory bikes with some new ideas.

Yeah, the way the furry seat on that thing manipulates my (surprisingly) supple

buttocks - I am confident that the O-TEN Yam 450 is a little "light in the loafers"

(whatever that means).

Some have been affixing glittery tassles to the ends of the bars and flying rainbow

flags from the rear axle, mostly in California, I'm told.

The bike has officially been labeled gay. It's over.

Long live the two-stroke. I like tuhtles.

Honda is pretty much in the same situation. They are holding off on shipping 2010 models to many markets because there are so many 2008 and 2009's still on the floor that need to be sold.

I'm not sure but I think they have until May to get it done, I know KTM barely got it done the one year.

Uuummmm yes I feel I have a better than average grasp of the English language... it means to move away from the main issue, which is the homologation of the 2010 YZF 450, ergo, "But I digress" was my acknowledgment that I was moving away from the issue..... Shall i continue? I was just joking around in a sophomoric fashion..... One guy got it, maybe you have no idea what humor is, or should I define that for you as well????

Some of guys on here are just a bit too serious, lighten up a bit!!!!

They won't be telling Yamaha L&M and James no, and even if they don't get enough in by the time they are suppose to what would they really do?

People werent buying '09 Yammie 450's because they knew Yamaha was buidling a new bike from the ground up with EFI for '10. What makes them think now that the bike has seen the light of day that those '09's are gonna move now? Time to take the hit and at least sell something.

Really?

60%?

I'd bet that the most 'Factory' bike out there is an actual Team Honda bike.

You can get your hands on 90% of the stuff on that bike; and, the stuff you can't get? Well, YOU CAN buy comparable stuff.

I think most people in here would crap themselves if they knew how many of the parts on the 'Factory' bikes are readily available.

Besides, what does it matter?

Tommy Hahn kicked their asses, on MANY occasions...on a bike made ENTIRELY from parts that YOU CAN buy right now!

So...

I'm jus' sayin'...

James Stewart will be riding a YZ450 with the exhaust coming out the back of the cylinder at A1. You can take that to the bank. They'll tell Yamaha that as long as they get the bikes into the US in some warehouse and a customer can order one for delivery in '010, they're good to go.

Yamaha must not be TOO worried about selling '09s. I just looked at the website and list price is $7400. Make that about $5400 and I'll take one off their hands.

What I don't get is that it seems to me that James is the only one who seems to have the bike I haven't seen any other Yamaha supported rider on one ....nothing from JGR, Team Jlaw, and a few others to name. So is the rest of the field going to have to race 09's while James get to ride the 2010? They certainly won't have time to test and get ready for A1 if they don't get their bikes soon.....

JLaw is giving out laps around the jailhouse on his 2010 YZ450 in exchange for a steady supply of Skoal.

People are finding 09 YZ450's for $4500-4900 all over the place, did you still want one?

I seem to remember reading about this in MXA the year that KTM introduced their 250 SXF thumper. No one but the factory team could get one. Somehow KTM produced 200 owners manuals to prove that they had bikes (that no one could buy) and the AMA let them get away with it.

I am sure Yamaha will be able to bend the rules if neccessary

The $4500 brand new '09 450s is becoming as legendary as the $200 WW2 surplus Harleys packed in grease. Everyone has heard of them and nobody has seen them.
