I have a question posed to me by another for all of you. How is it that the 2010 Suzuki's were legal to race although none are available yet in the US?

They are probably here, but still in warehouses so that dealers can push leftover 2008 and 2009 stock. Just my guess.

I haven't heard of any new suzuki being anywhere near here, the suzuki rep was in today, I should have asked him.

The latest issue of MXA commented about the homolagation rule regarding the KTM350.

They report that "Under the AMA's convoluted rules, a major manufacturer only needs to have 400 production bikes in the country by May 31st to be able to race the bike in that current season. That means that a factory could race the complete supercross series without ever having a production bike in the country."

I often wondered about that rule, how do they really know 400 bikes are actually here. Do they just have to show paper work for them or something?

What if they race the entire series and then don't have the required 400 bikes in the country? Would they have to forfeit their wins?

What would happen if there were not 400 production bikes in the country by the deadline, and that bike won a championship? Because May 31st is after the SX season ends. Would the rider be DQ'd on May 31st and 2nd place would win?

Went through this a few years back with the KTM 250F
As long as they make production and import requirements by June 1, it's all good

Ok, so let's say we have huge earthquake in japan and only 200 get shipped out. This sure seems to be stretching everything, knowing how volital the world is with attacks, hurricanes, quakes, and whatever else.

Dungey,Hahn, and Stroupe were on 09's. The 250's were also 09's, although it looks like they fit the fenders, front # plate, and side panels to Morais's 250. Look for some pic's, no aluminum tank.

When Stroupe hits the east he will have a 10 250, Canidae will stick with the 09, as they have 0 test time on the 10.

Dungey & Stroupe were in fact on 2010 bikes not 2009. Hahn was on an 09 RMZ450 & Morais was on an 09 RMZ250. All you have to do is look @ the frames from the 2010 bike to 2009 bike...

While you may be right on Dungey and Stoupe, don't try to tell me that you can look at the 10 450 frame in a pic and tell the difference from an 09. I could have the 10 sitting right next to my 09 RMZ450 and probably couldn't tell the difference until I got the tank off and put the calipers to both of them.
