Very interesting...... Ausie release

I think the US version won't be released till sometime in 2010 and maybe called a 2011 giving dealers a chance to sell the 09 models on the floor...... too bad the bike looks good.

Landon Currier was on a Suzuki at Salem on Tuesday, after pretty much his whole life on Yamaha's. I was pretty sure that the 2010's were still unavailable, so I'm assuming he was still on a 2009.

The 2010s are here, in the states, in VERY limited qty's. The race team has VERY few, too. They've got a few bikes over here and they're testing and developing...VERY quietly.

Here's another thing...don't be surprised to learn that many of the "Support-Teams" don't have '10s, yet...

It looks like the "pipe-line" issue is true...Suzuki wants to move the '09s...and...I'm guessing here...there should be some real good "incentives" on the '09s coming REAL soon.

The 250, obviously, has a lot of changes...jus' like the Japan-Nationals bikes had. It looks awesome.

The 450? Well, I'd have to say that if you can get an '09 pretty damn cheap...like I'm thinking you'll be able to, soon, well...the '09 Zook is lookin' to be a HELLUVA bargain.

The 2010 450 has changes; but, are you gonna pay $8K for a "revised" model?

I rode a fresh '09 RMZ450 at the Lake Elsinore GP and I was impressed. Really impressed. Box-Stock and it was constantly WRUNG-OUT like a 125 on the Carlsbad Freeway...it took it. No sweat. Suspension? Set the pre-load & a few clicks and, again, impressed.

My team-mate cart-wheeled the thing, and, again...the bike took it suprisingly well.

The Zooks are solid scoots.

After several years of riding nicley prepared KX-Fs...I'm goin' Zookin' in 2010.

Great bikes, Great people, Great support for the sport, the riders and the racers. The "culture" over at Suzuki has given us some great things.

Besides, Don Sakakura and the Yosh folks are invovlved in MX now and they know how to win.

I ripped a start from Egypt and I was happy about that.

we have 2010 models down here, (in facti even have a demo one for my store)

Suzuki NZ Cleared out there 09's at a amazing deal (2k NZ of the RRP) and got rid of them 2 months ago,

the new 2010 is an awesome bike straight out of the crate,

We have already ordered 2010 RM-Zs and the RM-X. I was first told that they were only bringing in 400 of each for homlagation but I'm wondering if it won't be more. The order info shows Feb/Mar for delivery time. I was also told that 2011s will be ordered in May or June.

There are deals on 09s but I think Suzuki is done with them in the warehouse and they are trying to get rid of them at the dealer level now.

So is it safe to say that homologation will not be met by Anaheim 1?

There is a certain dealer in Orange County who is rumored to be selling 08-09' RMZ450's for $5500 - $5700 out the door! If i can sell my barely used 08' CRF450 I plan on buying an 09' RMZ450.

I got my 08.5 RMZ450 exactly a year ago for 5800 OTD, it wasn't one the dealer was just wanting to move off the floor either, they ordered it for me.

A pipe change and efi tune for the mapping and ignition and this motor really wakes up, you'll hear nothing but PCV for it on TT, but that can't change the ignition like the Yoshi tuner can. Most dealer with the Yoshi box only charge 50-75 bucks to tune it, problem is finding one who has it. Just a exhaust change let's you ring it out a bit more before that over rev bang though, I went Pro Circuit T4R, but any will be good.

I think there is a delayed deadline for the required 400 consumer units. If I recall, it's like the manufacturer can flash some paperwork showing they will be enroute, within the required time.
I am sure some insider can give us the exact deadline date, but I think it is June, or thereabouts.

This thread is turning out to be entirely way tooooooo intelligent.

Quick, go get some of the whiney-cunty-bitches to screw it up!

Seriously, tho...

I love the " 08.5 RMZ " designation 'cause it's true.

And the comment about a pipe and mapping? Very true!

Raising the compression by .5 or 1.0 makes them rip, too.

Now, hurry, someone go get one of the Crusty-n-James Haters so we can have a Normal Vital thread!

P.S. having 400 units on the ground/in the wharehouse by A1 is prolly a Non-Issue.

Last night on DMXS Matt Lemoine of the Suzuki City team said that the team was not expecting to be able to get 2010's until some time in January and that they would most likely race 2009 models in SX rather than try to change over and set up the new model with out any testing time. They probably have time to be ready for East region SX.

|

11/12/2009 5:10 PM

THere may be a LOT of teams riding 09 bikes this year due to the delay and lack of testing time on them to race in SX especially the all new models. This is a serious roadbump that I have never seen in the history of the sport. When speaking with a team owner of a satellite Honda team that he ran for 2 years told me they wouldn't race the 2010 CRF250's bec they can't get them in time.....unfortunately due to budgets and cutbacks he had to park the team this year.

The impact of this is quite suprising since the whold idea of having a new race season is racing the new model bikes which helps MFG's sell them .....how do the MFG's expect to sell new models if race teams are running last year's bikes? Of course the factory teams will have them but thats about it ....kind of an infringement on the "production rule" since nobody but the factories will be able to race them, kind of gives them even more of an unfair advantage.

There will be 2010s out/avail. as req'd by the rules.

If someone goes out and gets a good result on a 2009...against 2010s...well...I think that'll make a really good reason to go out and save $2-3K on a new 450!

Think about it: $8K PLUS for the new Yamaha (And other 2010 450s) while the '09 Zook is goin' for less than $6K...that's 2 grand you can spend doin' A LOT of ridin'!

The only bike I can think of that WON'T be ready for SX is the new Katoom. And that's a pitty...

I'd love to see Alessi out there on a 350. He'd STILL get the damn Hole-Shot.

The KTM350 was never intended to be ready for the 2010 SX but for the 2010 MX season, it will be an awesome bike and Mikey will do great on it so will "crazy grill"
