it's a side door for the airbox./airfilter
The filter can also be accessed under the seat traditionally..
just gives a rider extra room and a good view to insure the filters seated properly.
Man, what a cool thing. Is there any reason a guy couldn't ride that in Supercross? Any rules stating that a bike has to have the engine that the chassis was originally designed for? I'd look it up but I'm lazy...

good question ,
and i dont have the answer yet!
but soon.
basically it costs me as much, or more,
to manufactuer this bike, than a Cr500AF ,
so it will be about that same price,
I have to really sit down and nail whats into this model , to get final retail.
I vaugely remember something about a chassis has to use its original engine, but then I guess Jeremy McGrath would have been bending that back when he was racing a '93 chassis with a '96 engine. Maybe I'm not even remembering that right.
Beautiful bike, AJ. As usual...artwork that you can ride.

Probably not much different from the cost of a new 450 with a titanium/carbon fiber pipe and the normal goodies people put on those things. And way more fun.

hmm
well as far as AMA Pro, your 500AF is legal and homo'ed..
it is listed as an elgiible bike for diciplines that have a class for 500ss 2 strokes.
the only stipulation when i originally talked to duke about this topic
(see how long ago that was)
was that we had to have so many bikes and parts availible..
and the abilty to meet a reasonable demands for them in a normal time frame.
They came out and inspected the place, the bike/parts inventory
that was it. Put it in the Pro book as eligible,
and checked in thru the years off and on..
(the 500AF holds some national championships in various diciplines and classes..)
Things can change though..
i havnt spoken to anyone at the AMA this year about any of the bikes.
What is going on with that left side panel?

lol have you lost enough weight , that your doc feels it's safe to ride/ exercise now?
does give me hope a few guys might like it..!!
thanks flarider..
overall i'm super pumped about it..
i feel its a better engine ,and chassis, than Honda's last CR250R in 07.
i think it's dunlops will hook up well and get decent starts..
as long as it rides it's own race, things should go well...
How much AJ?
and in quantity to satisfy any *homo rule*,
i cant see why it wouldn't be eligible.
you wouldnt want to just show up at a Supercross line without
jumping thru the typical paperwork ..but it wouldnt take much?
