2008 RMZ 450 help needed.....dealers....mechanics?

Ok, so as of right now my plan to buy a new RMZ450 from my buddy fell through. His dealer that he owns purchased a "new" bike from one shady ass Syracuse Zuke dealer and well, the thing was used!! But they tried to cover it up. Anyways, I was gonna pay $6400 out the door. Well now I located a dealer about 100 miles away that has a brand new 08 RMZ450. This is what I need to know.....year does not matter to me.....what were the problems with these(engine cases)? How do I know if it was fixed? Did they all have problems? Any certain vin numbers? Are the 08-10 RMZ450s essentially the same? I can get this bike for $560 out the door tomorrow morning but don't want to risk getting a "lemon". Please let me know asap. Thanks. Dave

Almost all '08's in dealerships still should have the '09 cases already installed. It was a mandatory recall so if it was not done and you have any issues you should be covered.

i have one....all the new 08s have been updated with the stronger cases ..i have 40hrs on mine and its been a great bike

I agree. It sucks we have to settle for GuyB... If only we could have gotten GuyA instead. Last I heard Guy A went on to bigger and better things. He's a shift manager at a 7-11 in Compton.
