Hey guys I have a 2006 KX 65 and it’s a no start I did a compression test with my finger is pulling and pushing, I sprayed starter fluid into the spark plug hole still No start! Cleaned the carb, I switched out CDI box/computer with a different KX 65 of the same year still no start, this is all after a new piston (generic) somebody help please?

Go back to the basics. Do you have spark? Fuel getting to the carb? No rag in the airbox?

Spark, fuel/air mix, and compression are all she needs.

Check for spark by pulling plug, connecting it back in the boot and grounding the electrode to cylinder while you crank it over. If no spark, i'd suspect the stator is bad.

Clearly you are missing both the cylinder and cylinder head.

You did a compression test with your finger?!? Wtf?!? Dude that generic piston probably isnt even the right size and you have like 50psi. Get a good compression tester and get a reading.

Also did you put gas in it

Disconnect the kill switch, then give it a kick. My sons 65 back in 07 had a faulty kill switch and it grounded out the whole machine, no start. Hope it helps, good luck

So you went from a YZ250F to a YZ65?

Did you take your time machine back to your 65 days? Tell us how. Help!

Thanks man it was the “cheap piston” I put an oem piston in and it fired up, the guy who I got it from lied and said he (just replaced the piston and gave me the old box, receipts, ect and I noticed it was an off brand so as a last ditch effort I replaced it thanks

Yo bro lol I heard of someone doing it with there finger so i tried it, nevertheless it was the generic piston I replaced it with oem and it worked... question since your the only one who figured it out... (I have 3 kx65) now my other kx65 starts but when I put it in gear it cuts off immediately! Question is bad clutches or carb adjustment? Thanks man

Hey guys I got it fixed it was the piston thanks... but if it’s not to much trouble to answer one more question?

So I have 3 kx65, the (1) generic piston bike is done,
(2) 06 kx65 again, starts fine but when I put it in gear it cuts off immediately, also sometimes Boggs down when given gas at idle, carb rite? But do what? And how??

2003 Kx65 (#3) needs piston hopefully Itll start and run fine after build but keep an eye out for questions lol I appreciate guys thanks

Am I just that naive? I don't see any "troll" red flags. Kinda just seems like a guy looking some bike help on the biggest motocross forum out there.

Its the vital way. Easier to assume everyone is a troll.

They will ask goofy questions as long as you keep answering them. You really buying that nonsense that the bike would not start cause it had a "generic" piston in it? Like Wal Mart sold it to them and it was a dud. LOL.

Keep your eye out for more question!

Much ty!
