A quick update on the build. It won't be a complete down to the frame rebuild but not sure yet. Got all the plastics off not really digging this red anodized sub frame. It's all straight but alot of cleaning and polishing ahead! Installed Windam bend fat bars ODI lock on grips and a new front brake cable .

I bet some dilute caustic soda spray, followed by soda blasting will get the subframe clean. Make sure you use the right safety stuff

Great bike that will hold good value if taken care of. The red anodized sub frame is a bit overkill, but Easy Off oven cleaner will be a huge help in removing the ano, just takes a few applications and then a few scotch brights and you're good to go. Wish I wouldn't have sold my 06... best bike I ever owned. Good luck with the build.

Thanks for the tip I'll have to give the ez off a try. Just riding the bike around the house quick I really like it!

we have had great luck getting anodizing off with ez off oven cleaner. be caarefull, let it sit for 10 minutes or so and then wipe it off, then do it again if needed. we do a bunch of our BMX parts it the finish looks shitty, then just polish it.

Had my buddy at work media blast the sub frame and I think it looks much better!
Not much Progress but more to come!
