Extremely expensive for what it is. Keep looking, you can do better.

Looks clean, kinda high price for the size and miles of the van. But maybe if it was in perfect shape with no rust I suppose it’s not an outrageous price.

I bought a 172 wheelbase, 05 sprinter with 280 for 8500 in Oregon just this last summer.

Biggest thing to look for is rust on the ceiling seems as well as rocker panels and around the windshield... if it’s got rust DO NOT pay that price !!!

Oh, and maybe if possible ask if you can take the valve cover off and see if the injector seals are leaking. Look up “sprinter van Black Death” and you’ll see what I’m talking about.

I have a 05 172". Got for 9k with 125k on the odometer. It now has 145k, zero problems so far. I LOVE driving it for some odd reason. For the size, they turn very well.

Mine has rust on the drivers quarter panel and the corner of the sliding door. They paint these things with water color paint. I'll cut it out and fix it at some point. They still sell the repair panels.

I see it doesn't have cruise control. For your info, you can add cruise with factory Benz parts, you would then need to take it to a Benz dealer to turn the cruise function on in the ECM.

The t1n sprinters are supposed to be the best. Seen multiple ones in my area with over 500k miles. They do seem to have some problems with rust. I love mine, drives great, turns great, 20-22 mpg. Have had a few problems with mine though, it was a fed ex van so lots of idle time. The ac/heat has been kind of a pain, the dials are all sorts of messed up, I forget what it’s called. I think they call it some sort of furnace, but it was sucking down coolant so we bypassed it. And it still tends to use a little more coolant than I would like. Also needed the roof to be sealed, but with some self leveling sealant it was a pretty easy fix. Overall though it has been great for what it is. (Was only 4200 (280k miles)) and it’s been on multiple 2 and 3 hour trips and hasn’t let me down yet. So if you could find one that is halfway decent with under 200k miles it will last you a lifetime imo.

Here’s a picture with it in the background

You could get a 2012 for $9k. Keep looking. Thats too much for an older body style.

Autotempest.com is showing a bunch of them. Seach Dodge, Sprinter (its in the drop down menu) and then any distance to get a feel for pricing.

Good Luck!

EDIT: Just noticed you are in Ohio. You should be able to find a ton of them in that region.

well The longevity of a Mercedes Sprinter largely hinges on meticulous maintenance and operational care. On average, these vans are known to reach impressive mileage figures. A well-maintained Sprinter can easily exceed 300,000 miles  on the odometer. In fact, some fleet operators and individual owners report clocking over 500,000 miles without major issues when routine maintenance is rigorously observed. check this for  FREE  Sprinter inspection Vista:  www.Sprinter.Repair  and Sprinter Service & Repair in San Diego

Tips for Extending Sprinter Van Life

1. Routine Maintenance
Adhere strictly to the maintenance schedule outlined in the owner's manual. Regular oil changes, filter replacements, brake inspections, and fluid checks are crucial for a healthy engine and overall functionality.

2. Quality Parts and Service
Invest in high-quality replacement parts and authorized service centers. Genuine parts and qualified technicians can ensure optimal performance and longevity.

3. Drive Responsibly
Encourage gentle driving habits. Smooth acceleration, braking, and avoiding excessive idling can reduce stress on the engine and other vital components.

4. Monitor Warning Signs
Be vigilant for any unusual sounds, warning lights, or changes in vehicle behavior. Addressing issues promptly can prevent minor problems from escalating into major repairs.

5. Protect Against Corrosion
Regularly wash the van, especially in areas prone to road salt or environmental debris. Applying protective coatings can guard against rust and corrosion, extending the vehicle's life.
