Hello all, have a quick question that might seem like a no brainer but taking my time and replacing crankseals currently. I am at the almost final step before putting new seal in and putting back together. Which way is the correct way to (loosen) remove the bolt holding on the primary gear? Photo
I have a 3/4 ratchet with with a 14mm socket and any way I turn it won’t come loose. I am using the old penny trick to jam gear, so the gear moving while I turn is not a problem. Thank you in advance hoping to be back out on the trails ASAP.

You should have to bolt the clutch back on,
Then either wedge a coin between the two gears or use a special clutch holding tool.

If that does not work you need a rattle gun.

I have all that back on yes I said above I’m not having a problem with the penny tool just need to make sure I’m loosening bolt the right way. Just want to be sure it’s not reverse thread lol I’ve never been in my bottom end until now

My dad and I just pulled mine off last night on my 05. It is a normal thread, not backwards. We used an impact and it came right off.

I tried the penny method and this is what happened: Photo

I used a regular wrench though, it didn’t even budge. I guess I need to get a hold of an impact.

Impact had mine off in less than a second. So much easier that way. Didn't have to fight anything
