Rob, have a questions. Is the Hammerhead brake pedal bike specific, or for a 250F, 450F ?
The hammerhead four stroke 450 brake pedal will work on the 250 two stroke as long as you have the pro kit installed on it.
What is the pro kit that your mentioned for the brake lever?

Pedal: https://hdmoto.com/moto/catalog/product/view/id/50521/s/kawasaki-kx450f…
Pro Kit: https://hdmoto.com/moto/brake-pedals/brake-pedal-accessories/kawasaki-r…
(return spring and nut) Not the 6mm one

Wouldnt hurt to give them a call to verify. If they say they dont have one for your bike, mention my bike and name (Rob Fox) and they can look up what I ordered.

Well, how does it handle? What's the power like? Suspension good? How does it compare to a new 450?

Beautiful bike by the way!

It's a ton of Fun! Forgot how much fun 2-strokes are to ride..
Suspension seems a bit soft for me, but nothing a few clickers cant change
Cornered surprisingly well, was able to get into ruts without any problems
No engine breaking took a little to get used to, especially on faces of jumps
Took the flywheel weight off that was on it and woke it up alot, very crisp with V-Force reeds
Been chasing a detonation sound, seems to be common on these bikes

450 is definitely easier to ride
But i will tell you.... My 450 is for sale after spending some time on this bike! I dont ride competitively and dont have the need for the power of the 450. Will probably get a 2019 KX450 (if its new) and do a build on that for fun.

We will see how RV likes it tomorrow!

Thanks!

What fuel are you using? We cant run anything close to pump gas on our 05. Changed to C12 and VP110 and the detonation sound stopped. oh and we are running 40:1

Not really a Kawi guy, but the bike is sick. Frame might look cool powder coated black.

I was running pump gas and that is what we suspect is the issue like you said. I'll be putting c12 in it this weekend

Thank you. I'm not a fan of the gloss black frame on the steel bike personally. My (this) frame has been nickel plated.

I've had 2 05 kx250's and both had the detonation issue, good friend of mine runs a hotter ignition and it got rid of the problem and can still run pump gas. Forget the name of the company but they are European and can get the name if anyone is interested. I run renegade 110 in my bike because the local race shop sells fresh stuff and it gets ride of the detonation

These bike don't seem to really like anything under like 102 octane. Damn bike makes me spend $95 on 5 Gallons of fuel Laughing But she runs awesome with it!

Insanely cool, the ole smoker looks right at home with the modern bike's, although, I prefer your graphics. I hope they reward you with some nice goodies, honestly, I'd be happy just knowing I had the honor of letting one of the sports greatest brapp my bike around the track. Props to you....Wink

Man what an awesome day! Ryan was awesome to hang out with and super appreciative of me letting him ride my bike. Unfortunately he was only able to do a few laps but it was so cool to see him rip on my bike. Only complaint he has was that the rear shock was too soft lol some more photos below:

Nice ride, I read thru it all your mods and don't think I saw what you had to change to get fender and plate to fit. You said you did a mod, was it just the triples? I'm pretty sure fenders will fit, but plate is usually too big. Any tips?

Fender bolts right up with new style bolts (have shoulder on head)
Number plate top hole lines up, bottom holes i just attached with 2 zip ties. Number plate and triple clamp both have holes, no pins to connect them.

I use two 8mm bolts with washers that are long enough to use for the bottom of the front number plate it works out really good or just go cycra and you don't have to worry about it.

I cheated, took fender and plate off my '13 to my '05. Ordered '17 for my '13. Doesn't matter I guess since the'll swap anyway. Thanks for the help with it.

The frame guards look great and make the bike look a bit meaner...imo. I have a used set, but do you have a source to get new guard's ? Once again, the bike looks great. Edit....I found and ordered the CF guards on ebay.

Just figured I'd throw this up here since there's a bunch of kawi guys on this forum but I had emailed Nihilo on clutch covers and they said that they would do a run of them if there was 15 or more that would be made so if anyone is interested let me know! It would be almost a one off twist on the old kawis
