2003 Yamaha ttr125l? How much compression should it have?

Just got it to my house it is my nephews he says it is smoking out if the exhaust real bad and has very low power now. I have not started it yet to see what it is doing. Any help?

It will not have a lot of compression due to the decompression set up. It will most likely only read about 65 lbs.
Smoking can be worn rings or bad valve seals or a flooding carb.

Ok so this thing just took almost a quart of oil. The plug I pulled out that he just bought and put in had oil all over it bad! I started it and it smokes something terrible. I am a 2 stroke guy so what do ya think is my next step?

piston and rings. Those motors can run dry on oil and still only need piston and rings. I have been dealing with that bike since 2001, At worst the small end of the conn rod will be compromised but not a huge issue with a new wrist pin,
You could do valve seals but they are probably fine. I never do.
Best rebuild kit is a BBR 150 kit. comes with everything including a cam. adds some torque.
