Just got it to my house it is my nephews he says it is smoking out if the exhaust real bad and has very low power now. I have not started it yet to see what it is doing. Any help?
It will not have a lot of compression due to the decompression set up. It will most likely only read about 65 lbs.
Smoking can be worn rings or bad valve seals or a flooding carb.
Ok so this thing just took almost a quart of oil. The plug I pulled out that he just bought and put in had oil all over it bad! I started it and it smokes something terrible. I am a 2 stroke guy so what do ya think is my next step?
piston and rings. Those motors can run dry on oil and still only need piston and rings. I have been dealing with that bike since 2001, At worst the small end of the conn rod will be compromised but not a huge issue with a new wrist pin,
You could do valve seals but they are probably fine. I never do.
Best rebuild kit is a BBR 150 kit. comes with everything including a cam. adds some torque.
