I bought an 03 kx125 last year for $800 non papers. Traded parts for it. The cylinder has been sleeved and the power valves chopped up to get it to work. Horrible. I got it seized and i have never worked on it yet.

For a "new condition" bike that will need a few things (tires, fluids) is $4500 that outrageous ?

Is a $7000 YZ125 that much better?

Serious question, never rode a KX125.

$4500 doesn’t seem terrible. Used bikes are high right now and older 2 strokes that were basically kept in a time capsule always bring good money.

Is the new yz125 significantly better? Yes.

For somebody after a KX its sweet. I had one that I bought in similar shape, albeit a 2005, back in like 2012, Think I paid 800$ for it. That was before the 2 stroke resurgence.

Unfortunately 03 was the odd ball year if I remember correctly, alot of parts were 1 off to that year.

I know that the bike is basically brand new. Would I spend $4500 when I can get a 2019 KTM 125 fresh rebuild w/ 35 frame hours for 5K and ride it without feeling guilty? 16 years newer etc. for $500 more and not even negotiating the price...KTM for me. BUT... for a brand new bike 2003 time capsule your not going to find it...for $4500 this is it.

What’s funny is that I bought my 2003 KX125 new in 2003 for $4,500.

That was only on the 250 4-strokes
