I've found what may be a decent deal on a fairly low-hour 200. Who has experience with them? Not really in the market for a bike, but seems tempting.

Thoughts? Opinions?

Did you buy the 200SX, Vet? I've a 2002 200EXC that's been a great bike. I bought it for riding in tight woods, where it shines, and chasing my sons around MX tracks. I've had it for 8 years kept up with the maintenance and not had any unexpected problems.

Someone did a 200sx in a Suzuki rmz250 frame and it sure looked like a fun bike. Buy!

Great motor! I have had a few 200's and keep coming back to them. During those years and up to 2005 (if I remember correctly) the 200 motor was more electric. Todays 200 is still a great bike but the characteristics of the motor are different. My 02 200 is one of my favorite bikes that I wish I hadn't traded.

Yeah Hubert friend who moved to vegas right? His craftsmanship was top notch and the bike ended up being best of both worlds

I believe the SX specific parts (ignition and CDI?) are quite desirable. The 200SX is a much-sought after bike, as I understand it.

Have had a 200 for the past 2 years and love it, was on CRF for maybe 6 years and thought that bike was fun but the 200 is perfect for me, seem to have improved cornering etc. For the record 49yo and hooked!!!

The stock 200SX pipe is very rare and desirable.

I think its an awesome bike! I have the '04 200sx did a plastic conversion to make it look a little more modern. Too bad its not part of KTM's current lineup, its a blast to ride.

What did you need to convert? What fits now?

Crazy how much the frame and swingarm has changed over the years. If we could get a 03 motor in todays frame, it would be comparable to the zuke 200 that guy fabricated.

-Subframe 11-15 sx or sxf, I used a 2011 350sxf off ebay.
-Gas Tank 11-15 sx, I used a 2013 250sx off ebay.
-Seat 11-15 sxf (some newer xc/xcw models too) I used a 2014 450 xc off craigslist.
-Airboot 11 125sx, '04 stock airboot was very close to working for me but this fit perfect, not sure about boots from 12-15 sx bikes with linkage
-Plastic

So with this conversion plastics from 11-15 will fit.

I wrote up a thread on it here:
