We know that modern mx is quite at its peak in term of technology, and has actually peaked quite many years ago.
But how many seconds a lap do you think there is between a "old modern" vs the latest bike ?

I’m in the minority & prefer the 09 + models.
I had the chance to ride my dad’s 07 CRF back to back with my 18 KX450 at the time (not truly apples to apples but a good representation of current vs dated).
I am guessing that I was faster on the KX...but only for a couple laps. I could ride consistently good laps on the 07 Honda all day long. The KX’s power wore me out whereas the Honda, being down several horsepower and carbureted, was easy to ride and not make mistakes on. The KX felt like a 500 2-stroke in comparison.
