So I bought a yz250 (2000 model) and have seen people convert the bike to 2015+ plastics with updated shrouds and rear plates n fender.
However I am aware the restyle kit does not bolt right up to my bike and is made for 2002+. I've watched videos saying you have to fab your own mounts and buy a 2002+ subframe to make the rear plastics work. How hard is this?
Guy who has done it.... https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=youKp-wlMQo

UFO has a restyling kit that says its for a 2005 and newer but i bet it would work on your bike if you could modify the bolt holes on the plastics rather than fab up an entire new subframe. Or just leave the older plastics. They look good too.

Several years ago, I was considering buying a 99' and I found a video of what it takes to convert it over to the newer air box and plastic. The project I saw required changing the subframe. He had to mod the top mounting point, and weld new tabs for the lower mounts. Pretty sure he had to cut down the subframe as well.

Personally, I think those bikes look so good in stock form.

That's what I'm starting to fall towards and just getting custom graphics
