I stopped by Chaparral yesterday and saw a 2017 crf 450 that had a few extras like wheels, exhaust, bars and graphics. But $20,000 for a 2017?

Spend the $20k on RV's PC bike, at least you're getting something for your money.

To the uneducated consumer with a fat chunk of cash in their pocket, they see the price tag and think "DAYUM, they have $20k bikes here, this $7k bike is a bargain."

I would imagine they aren't to concerned about actually selling the bike.

I’m calling straight up B.S. on the MSRP. No way Honda has a bike that’s almost 2X the new 450CRF Works Edition coming from the factory. More like the DSRP(Dealer Super Rip-off Price)

I like to mess with the sales reps/dealers when they do this. I usually ask, "where are the stock parts that came with it? Those are included in the base price of the stock bike before you swapped them out for after market parts. I can sell the original parts on Ebay or CL to help offset some of the cost of the bike." I usually get a cross-eyed look then a "um, no we don't do that." Then I usually tell them, "I'm just messing with them and the price is just stupid to an educated buyer.
Good luck selling it." Even then, there's no way to make up the price to $20K, that's ridiculous. Base price - $9K, wheels $1K, exhaust $1K, suspension $2K, other bling goodies $500. Should be worth about $13,500 before negotiation. Might be legitimately worth $12K at best OTD.

Chaparrals prices are garbage. Walked in and said i want that bike for msrp plus sales tax and license fees. Ok %6 and we cant knock of freight and assemble fees. Next day call 3bros and get 1.99% and $1000 cheaper then chap. They are nice for gear, tires and OEM parts but unless you are buying a side by side then they dont give a rats ass.

Yea, my point exactly. Pretty sure only products that are actually in the manufacturers production have a MSRP (I could be wrong, but the use of the term MSRP in this situation just seems incorrect)

You’re not wrong... That’s exactly how it works. You can’t call Honda and tell them you need a revised msrp because you added some aftermarket parts

They can charge what they want but to list that as the MSRP is probably illegal.

Wait, they want you to pay $20K to be a riding billboard for them? What's the mod list?

Very good deal.
Especially if you consider a 2019 works edition is 11500$, lol...
