Interesting. Who makes them and how much are they?

I have a couple friends that run them. Way too much metal. Pipes get smashed and bent. Blow them out or get a new one.

I would much rather get a Polisport Armadillo pipe guard and an AXP skidplate.

I’m with Tuna. I could buy another pipe for the same price and smashing 2 pipes would probably take a year or so. I’d rather risk it and like how my bike looked.

i knew a guy who used on of those fucking things. It fell off on a hill climb once and we had to ziptie it to his back for about 40min ride back. Stupid fucking things

They pack up pretty good with mud as well. Extra 10lbs of slop in there!

Someone put a decent amount of time and work in to designing it, but it looks like a solution to a problem that isn’t worth worrying about for all but a handful of riders.

A friend of mine runs one, but he does nothing but extreme enduro riding. If you’re going to be doing hard enduro type stuff regularly then it’s probably a good option, but if you’re just doing normal trail riding I’d say that’s overkill.

They stick out kinda far and catch on stuff easier. I’ve ridden friends bikes with them and get hung up. I run a carbon guard which is smooth and ads almost no width. Not as strong, but can still take a pretty solid whack. I’m on a 19 TX300 fwiw
