In reality, 800 isn't that much for 75 extra cc's. That would make that thing a pretty lethal weapon. Maybe too lethal, my YZ250 fully stock from the dealer was a bitch to keep the front wheel down!

Keeps your nuts closer to the gas cap. It's not a chopper. Just a tip. Wink Lol.
Have been anxiously awaiting one of those myself. Rode a stocker and it wasn't enough, but then again, I weigh 265 in gear. Everything on that bike was awesome, just underpowered for me. Rode Yamaha 250's in the early 90's, and they just feel right. Sat on a 12 250SX, and knew I could never adapt. So I wait..........Evil

funny you say that about KTM's... I did the exact same thing. Not sure why but they just feel different....I think I am going to go with a YZ250.... like you say, they just feel right!

Than being said... I am really interested in this kit.... that would be bad ass!!!

The site says that this 325cc is a 75.5mm kit but the kits will be available from 72mm up to 80mm. Thats got to be close to 350ish territory.

scooter5002,bvm111, i had an 06,07,09 10 yz250, i said the same thingwhen i first sat on an 11 ktm 250sx... now i will NEVER, go back to the yamaha.. i had an 11 250sx, and now have a 12 250sx, with a 300sx kit its truely insane! the motors on ktm's our better than the mod motors i had on my yz's from pro circuit. the yamaha has better suspension, but thats it. the attention to detail and the high quality parts that ktm's come with is really hrd to beat.. i recently had my suspension done by mx tech and that solved my suspension problems. i had 5 revalves from F/C and they where good but now i got the ''magic carpet''.. after having a ktm , it would be really hard to go back to a jap bike, especially a 4- stroke.

Frikk.... I might just have to go with a 300 kitted 250SX, to go with my 2012 450SXF that I already dont ride due to working too much. LOL I wish a friend would get one so I could try it. Smile

Add a flywheel weight to make it more tractable and that thing would give the 450's a hell of a run.

Hehe, mine didn't like the stock 249cc Smile

I'd love to try one these kits for the fun of it but being 160 lbs I don't need more than my 250 on an mx track.

"NEW UPDATE 12/31/2012 THIS CYLINDER KIT WORKS SO GOOD WE ARE OFFERING A MONEY BACK GUARANTEE .YES A 30 DAY MONEY BACK GUARANTEE, REFUND FOR THE PURCHASE PRICE. WILL BE TAKING ORDERS SOON CHECK BACK"

Thats either extreame confidence or crazyness.

And in the 4-stroke world, you can take that $1000+, dump it on a new exhaust pipe for your bike, and get up to 2 more hp from it. Now that's technology! Laughing

Seriously, I wonder how tractable that motor is after the mod? My old RM250 has the Yammie piston in it, and it still could use more bottom end torque.

I was drooling on one 'til I read the part about the weak third gear. More power can't be a good thing. What specifically is the issue with that gear? Takes the dogs out and starts popping out of third? My mid 90's pianos did that.

My old CR480 did the same. When the thing broke, I assumed it was because that was the most used gear. When I took it apart, aside from some missing teeth, the shift fork for that cog wore to the point of not being able to engage the gear, if I remember correctly.

Hey may want to check your frame! looks like possible a crack in it above the weld where the zip tie is behind the exhaust pipe. could be the pic giving a false reading but looks like one to me.

That's what the zip tie is for. Duh.

The black cylinder on top leaning forward with the hose coming out of it. I believe ESR use their own model, I think it's electric. Or maybe you turn the Allen screw in or out, I forget. Saw it on their site.

Didn't Yamaha have some third gear issues pre 2002 as well? I remember hearing that spiced with a buddy that had repeated third gear breakdown on his 2001 YZ250. Switched to a CR250 newer experienced any more issues despite twice the seat time...

Ha! Damn, he works in mysterious way that dude no doubt. Maybe we should change the A.D date to a more recent 2007, when he and other muppets stopped producing the CR! Grinning

They will sell a bunch of these, and I bet it will kick butt. It is kind of pathetic that the aftermarket has to build the new generation of 2-stroke YZ's, since Yamaha refuses to update their bikes. At least yamaha supplies the 2005 model with new graphics to serve as a starting point. Oh well, cool product

no idea, but i personally know 2 guys that have had a failed 3rd gear and it wasnt even limited to the 250 model either. just doing research online suggests that 3rd is the Achilles heal of the yz (at least until a certain point). maybe a bad run that was corrected at some point. i couldnt tell you honestly.

It doesn't pop out of third, the 3rd gear literally breaks. In my case, it shattered teeth off and bits of 4th gear as well.

Ouch! Roostius on banned is hooked up with a shop in Arizona that produces gears, he was going to get a set of HRC CR 500 wide ratio trans gears copied. Might be a good idea to have one made before it fails, as in when brand new. Split the cases and save yourself a lot of heartache. Betting more load equals quicker failure.
