We'll have 2 red plates this weekend, Tomac and Roczen. This makes zero sense. Points are tied, but Tomac has 4 wins to Roczen's 3. Tomac should have the only red plate.

Red plate is worn by the points leader. They are on the same amount of points.

Tie breakers are used only for championship standings. It has nothing to do with the red plate.

I don't mind the 2 red plates, but since there is a tiebreaker, there really isn't a tie, is there?

Ok, what happens at the end of the series? Points are tied and one guy has more wins than the other? Guess who gets the red plate and championship? The guy with more wins. This 2 red plate deal at this point is retarded. Right now, there is clearly a difference based on wins. Just because it's the middle of the season it changes I guess. Brilliant bit of stupidity.

The tie breaker decides the championship once all rounds have been completed. Since we haven't completed all the rounds yet, its tied.

The red plate has nothing to do with tie breakers, never did. Its for the points leader

The champ wears the red plate during the first round only as an honor because he won the championship the year before.

At the end of the series there isn’t a red number plate. Whoever has the points lead, or if it’s a tie then the most wins, will get the championship and a number 1 plate, not a red plate.

Just my humble opinion. In the event of any tie in points during the season, you go to wins for the season for the red plate. If no wins, then yes, run more than one plate.

At first I thought the OP had a point. Then I realized that the riders are tied in points, which is the metric utilized for the award of the red plate. Then I realized I'm a little hungry and I have other things to worry about that are far more important... like which shoes to wear to work tomorrow.

Couldn't help but notice that RacerX has the points leader as Roczen with 200 points and in 2nd place Tomac with 200 points.

Not that it matters. And this doesn't upset me - but I'm sure it will somebody.
