I would say it really depends on what kind of riding you're doing. Like for example I would choose 2 stroke for the fun of it because.... well 2 stroke rule and also for to train on.

4 strokes i would choose to compete on since it's more competitive and doesn't fatigue you as much on the long motos.

This. I have both a modern two and four stroke and I find prefer one over the other depending on the terrain or riding I'm doing. I'm 50/50 on the one. I like em' both equally.

Especially the 2 stroke for training, I only got a 125 recently and have raced 250f for the last 6 years. When I jumped on my 125 it took a while to adjust but once I was riding it how I should, man it was fun but boy it drains the energy out of you. Jumped on my 250f, corner speed increased considerably and felt like a very different and more aggressive rider.

Not at all

Racers want the best bike available under the rules. Everything revolves around the rules. Cc for cc racing and suddenly Joe Slowvetsky likes 2ts again Blink Maybe even Johnny Futureceechamp would see the light.

Define prefer...

Spectator: I would love to hear the glorious sound of a factory 2 stroke 250 going up the face of a triple or through the whoops.

Rider: I have mixed feelings. I built my CR250 to get back into riding. What I’ve found is that I either love or hate it, depending on track conditions. It is harder than hell to ride on a blown out hard pack track. On a sand or loam track it’s all smiles.
I raced it for the first time outdoors last Thursday. I did pretty well, but the combination of a gate full of 450’s and a rocky start straight made for some painful times...
