Honda built a Bike with this tech years ago, but it was too good and would not have provided the cash cow of
parts sales so they buried it.
If Honda was sincere in their green marketing, they had their answer then with lower manufacturing carbon
footprint and lower emissions than the current greenwash not to mention every other advantage, cost, weight,
sound levels...
The only advantage this offers is decreased emissions which IS NOT AN ISSUE FOR MX BIKES. Why waste your time on pipe dreams? Work on getting sanctioning bodies to increase displacement rules 175/350. It will make for a better bike anyway.
If it works on a chainsaw than it should work on a bike.
Very cool. I know shit about engines, but I'm pretty sure they haven't explored the smokers enough and who knows what lays in the future...
As for moto.. I will stick with my EFI Honda 450. She is a real cream puff, mang.
It's quite a marketing gimmick on 4 strokes from what I have seen so far. Good for lazy and non mechanically inclined or those that ride in varying elevations but on a 4 stroke, that is about it.
It added 300 bucks in 1982. It added about 500 in late 90s when it went batteryless and hasn't changed much.
No Big Deal, and thats for 2 cylinders.
