1st - To camp or not to camp? I am am bringing along my two nephews who are under the age of 18. So, neither are allowed into 'Camp Lot B" which by the Red Bud website is the 'Party Lot'. So, I have to shell out $70 to stay in my tent on their grounds and not be able to see 'the sights!' basically. Or should I stay nearby in a hotel with a nice bed, pool and the amenities? Hmmm, any nearby campsites anyone recommends?

2nd - Using the Google Map coordinates... 41.871846,-86.363912 which way would you leave the grounds directly after the race if you're heading towards Chicago?
.
Two years ago we parked near the tunnel that is close to the American Flag (near #2 on the map below). We went to leave and it took about 2 hours to get out of the lot! This year I will probably park in Lot B near the road that goes to Main Street; Miller Rd on the Google map.
.
I was thinking I should take Miller Rd to Broceus School / Bakertown Road to Hy12 west, to Cleveland Ave South, to 80 West. OR should I take Main St / Glendora Rd north and follow around to Cleveland Ave South to 80?

Thanks very much for everyone's thought on this!

Camp Friday and Saturday night. Then just drive out of the lot Sunday morning.

I've always tried to park as close to an exit as possible so you can get out right away, even if that means moving my car during breaks between motos. You can walk past all the cars waiting in line to get out way faster than they move and then you get to jump into the line right at the exit.

"park as close to an exit as possible" .. We've done that before, works out ok. We also left one time with about two minutes + 2 laps to go when Carmichael was dominating the field with a gap of over a minute and a half! I don't like doing that though.
I'll probably re-park at intermission as you said.

camp for the weekend. period. If you've done lot B before then don't worry bout it. same thing, nother weekend. enjoy treating your nephews to "Reddd Buddd". Plus, friday night has night racing. lots of pro's and former pro's are walking around. And don't forget about those badass fireworks.

as far as leaving, just take your time. what's your hurry right.. not like ya gotta work on Sunday. Red Bud comes once a year like christmas. enjoy it.
