Well not really... I just needed a catchy title. I just bought a new leftover 2014 YZ250 2 smoker for $2,150 off the 2015 sticker (i.e. under $5K). The differences in plastic and BNG makes the savings WELL worth it.

My question is: Do I need to buy the '15 subframe to bolt up the full '15 plastics, or can I get by with the '14s subframe? Any other changes I should be aware of?

Thanks!

Subframe is fine, have to either replace the airbox or rivet the sides of the '15 to your '14 airbox

Just buy a 15 air box. They swap with no modifications. Around $90 from your dealer.

This.

Make sure to get the different threaded inserts for the airbox though.

Motocross Action gave an account on what's needed to accomplish this not sure if it was in a magazine or on the web
