Yeah, baby!
As I've been threatening, I decided to sign up and race again for the first time in 12 years. (I did compete in an invitational in '15, but it was on someone else's bike and not in my regular class, so I don't count that one.) I turned 50 yesterday, so I lined up in the 50+ Intermediate class at the Swapmoto El Dorado race.
I fully expected to get my ass handed to me, but the recent rain in SoCal must have scared away most of the competition. (And to be fair, it was a muddy disaster.) I ended up going 1-1 on my birthday in front of my family and some friends for one of the best days of racing I can remember.
Now to see if I can back it up in the next one!
