The wildest thing about that day was how he looked and sounded so slow. The bike sounded like it was just above idle and the guy looked like he was trail riding. I think he should have won that day but he fell once or twice.

That's his style. I have been told that he always run a gear high and kind of build speed on momentum...

No I didn't. Sounds like he tried to do what Carla did in mid eighties (that famous beer stop).

That is the word, but it looks so weird next to guys doing the exact opposite.

He did do a Hakan Carlqvist, at the exact same spot: the Monument Cafe on the road at Namur. It was his last Namur, I believe, and he thought it would be cool --- and it was!

When Carla did it, I remember thinking that might be the coolest thing a rider ever did in the middle of a motocross race. Still probably is!

Legend.

Anyway, I love how he goes on to say he rode a little tense, while he looked looser than anyone out there with his slightly off-beat style. Tongue

I posted on the video page, that I'm pretty sure Everts rode most of his pre qualifier with a flat font tire. Looked incredibly smoothing doing it, too,.

Few facts I found about Stefan..

10 times World Champion.

101 GP victories in total.

14 out of 15 GP's won in the 2006 season.

Second man, after Eric Geboers to become "Mr. 875cc" (winning world titles in 125/250/500cc).

In the 2003 season, he won 3 GP's (125cc, MXGP and 650cc) on the same day in Ernee.

Only rider to become World Champion on all four Japanese manufacturers.

Was 2003 the season they tried one moto format?

He almost won two titles that year I believe.

Was '97 the year that Reynard ran down RC in the 125 class, riding for primal impulse ?? Watch Robbie go through that upper vendors row sweeper was chilling, he looked to be going 10 miles an hour faster than everyone else.

He was on a primal impulse suzuki. I was right on vendors row when he blew by RC. That is the fastest I have ever seen anyone go a 125cc in my life. He was amazing that moto.

that thing about gaining speed with momentum is true. I was in winchester at mxdn 06 and in turns he was quite faster than bubba who was wide open, and stefan just was railing the outside standing up, the only time I have watched them live, but it was awsome

I don´t think Reynard rode Primal Impulse Suzuki, only PI Honda, then zukie 250 from 98-2000. The year was 97

You, are the MAN if you can get that uploaded. I think it was 98. I know that year the upper section was just one big long wide left sweeper, no little S turn.

The first half of that moto no one even noticed Reynard. You could hear that bike screaming all the way around the right sweeper by the tower, into the left by the gate, then down the vendors row sweeper...Still remember him passing RC right there before the cavity, the crowd went INSANE...all joking aside, as a fan you knew you were watching someone have probably his best ride ever on a bike.
