Hi Guys, I am after some info regarding a 1985 Honda CR250. The rear shock fitted to this bike is not 1985 and I am trying to identify it. There is HO441 stamped on the top mount block. It also has a black wheel at the bottom for adjusting the preload/rebound. What is the length between the fixing mounts that the correct shock should be. Any help you can offer will be very much appreciated.

Thank you, that rules out the 88 then as this is remote.
I have just purchased this bike so how do I know if it is actually a Honda shock, are Suzuki, Kawasaki or Yamaha very different ?

Thank you underground, I think you are right track regarding an XR shock.
