Saw this on Craigslist ..... $500 and othrr than being weathered, it looks to be in pretty good shape still ....me thinks it would make a great restoration project for the right dude.

I wish that was in Florida, I would buy it! I still remember that as the best bike I ever rode!

Front master cylinder has the usual busted off piece resulting in sans lever. Could be a tough part to find because everyone broke theirs.

Heck ya, looks like a great winter project!

I had one of those and apart from the front brake it wasn't as good as my 83 cr 125!
The 83 ripped, the 84 was gutless. I took off the atac chamber, removed the butterfly and made a cover to go over the flange...bike went a bit better but was still slow compared to the 83.
Then I broke the frame on the main down tube beside the kick starter...it wasn't a good bike...Also had the 84 cr 250...that thing was a missile with bad suspension! The motor absolutely ripped!
My boring story...

Barn finds in socal sure look a lot better than barn finds in tn, ga, and nc.

Humidity does weird stuff.

And the '83s were a better bike than the 84s.

Biggest concern with any 80's watercooled CR is the potential corroded waterpump case.

I had one that ran real strong. I stuck the piston and had it redone and then it was a dog sad

I had an ‘83. Don’t even recall how many times it seized.
