Smart move considering the price of fenders for those things. I'm starting to rebuild my K3 for my son.

I never thought about that part of the equation. How much are those fenders up to now?

LOL

LIke it. Those poor things were butt ugly compared to the mini-trail.
Your damn right they were. The Z50 rocked! First bike I ever rode was my next door neighbor's '69 Mini-Trail. That first 5 sec ride (I crashed into his garage door) was what got me hooked for life. From that first ride I wanted one. 42 years later I finally did it. Bought a beater and restored it. I ride it at least once every week now...

Restored? I'd call that an understatement, as would be the adjective "awesome"! Incredible job there.

I got a blue 1970 Z-model for Christmas of that year, unexpectedly. That was the best Christmas of my entire lengthy life; I flat flipped out at the site of it. Literal tears of joy, all of that.
