So what the initial concensus? Worth it to scrap the 18 in replacement for a new FE? Or at this point just wait till the 19s are landed?

I'm at 200+ hours on my 16, freshened up about 20 hours ago. I'm standing pat.

Rear number plate design should have been aborted. I'm sure it's a great bike tho. The 2018 is much easier on the eyes IMO.

I’m going to wait. I dont think there is anything groundbreaking that makes it justifiable to purchase over the standard model.

If you can afford and need a new bike before the 19s arrive in August/Sept, I’d say get it. I hope the price will reflect the lack of “aftermarket” parts.

I’m definitely going to get the 19 250SXF.devil

Carlino Joe - Any word on if the 19 250F will have any new engine upgrades?

Not enough difference for me to dump my 17 yet.

Maybe when the 19 shows up.

What are the chances of the two strokes getting some updates for 2019? Possible fi in sx and tc 125?

Likely the best you can buy. Fastest, lightest, best brakes and ergos.

B level suspension and kinda fugly. Both can be fixed.

Decide for yourself.

My issue is always parts availability and non-existent manuals. I would seriously make sure that they have all their ducks in a row before buying one. The 2016 450sxf felt rushed. I had one of the earlier ones and information was janky. They had a couple of recalls as well. I loved the bike but that would be my concern.

Not sure what engine the 250f will have, but sounds like the chassis should carry over. I’d assume all the positive attributes of this bike will be felt on the 19 250f. Crossing my fingers!

I would wait for the 19. The normal 19 will have minor updates on the small flaws that the new bike(probably) will have and you will save a few bucks. The 2019 bikes are only 6-8 months away(most likely 6).

I'm going to ride my 2017 450 this summer and buy a 2019 late summer/the fall. I hope the 250 2-stroke gets the new frame in 2019, i really want one. It would be nice to have both a 450 and a 250 2-stroke but i can't afford that.

You will receive the same manuals every other new bike owner receives. I was kind of surprised by this myself when I bought my 2015.5 KTM 450 FE.

All new Ktm's cone with a service manual, and all repair manuals can be downloaded online. Cant say I ever had an issue with parts availability either, although oil filters are the only thing I have needed.

Did you get the KTM portfolio binder with the manuals? Ktms part availability is excellent around here locally and on line.
