The penultimate round of the series. The dogfight between Geerts and Vialle continues. I think the decision of the MX2-championship will be determined this weekend. Whoever has the advantage going into Turkey, will take it.

I agree and I think we're going to see fireworks in the MX2 title battle.

19 riders circulating in MX2 free practice at a French GP...
As long as Geerts and Vialle at least start the races tomorrow they're guaranteed a minimum of two points.
The guy on his Suzuki is going to get a haul of points this weekend!

Yeah it is.... I wish teams like Hutten,Fantic, BT, Bud etc would just do the EU gps and not ride emx250.

At this point they could just combine EMX250 and MX2 into one class. There’s no point to race MX2 over EMX250 if you’re not on a factory team or racing for top 5’s

Lucas Coenen has had some really bad luck this year, he's been by far the best rider in EMX250 this year imo

Geerts probably loves the fact that there are 18 guys on the line. Go down on lap 1, start last and you're already in the points. Last week would have been a different story with 40 guys on the line as well

Do we really think it's necessary to carry a bike to the start line in ultra dry conditions?

It will be interesting to see what Infront will do.

I cant imagine them dropping the 1k wildcard fee since its been a cashcow for years.

But its also pretty clear that the majority of the emx riders dont want to spend the money on wildcards and rather stay in emx.

Maybe they should remove the age limit in mx2 and introduce an age limit in emx open? Basically force riders above 23 to do gps (either mx2 or mxgp) if they want to ride at international events.

If the MX2 entries continue to be so low what are the chances Luongo changes the 23-year-old rule?

Or finds a way to force EMX riders into MX2…

(Edit: roninho beat me to it)

Yes exactly, and have open qualifying like EMX 250 has right now. Let the best 40 guys line up on Sunday for 2 moto’s and let all the other guys run one moto B final on Sunday morning.

They get rid off the qualifying moto wich most guys wants and they have a full gate.

The other thing is, they should keep the money to show up and race like a EMX and not like a wildcard where you need to put more then 1000 on the table.

You barely seen wildcards anymore in MX2 of MXGP. People are over it after all those years paying Luongo his ass.

To be honest i dont think its just the entry fee. With the travel costs i would think you can do 6 or 7 gps nearby for the costs of 10 emx rounds. I mean Portugal, Sardignia, Sweden, Finland are costly trips for the majority.

Van Horebeek suffered a broken rib and water on one of his lungs, they've taken him to the hospital.

I know how I feels, got back from the hospital yesterday after having my chest cavity drained after multiple rib fractures and fractured pelvis. Sore as fuck.
