A guy I know in Iowa snapped his linkage in half with two hours on the bike under normal riding conditions. Usually I'm not the type to post pictures of peoples broken bikes (because they ALL break regardless of brand) but the anti KTM vibes I see all day on fb make me wish to smite any red riding arrogance. Bobby should've purchased orange

Never try to argue with idiots; they will only bring you down to their level.....and being more experienced, they will beat you at their own game!

Holy chit! Never seen that before...

Yes chances are this wouldn't have happened with a orange bike. After taking delivery of his shiny new expensive orange machine he would of have had the pleasure of disassembling it to grease bearings properly at which point someone would have applied proper torque specs. All sarcasm aside I am interested in seeing if Honda takes care of this for him.

|

I hope they do take care of him. It was obviously a manufacturing defect- which are very minimal in current times. I hope for Honda's sake that it's not a common thing.

That happened to me on a steel framed CR once.. Not anything to do with this thread but I know the feeling..
I came up short on a triple and ripped it out, hit the next set of whoops with my shock shaft pretzeling to provide cushion.
Is this guys shock now damaged too? He better take a close look. And Honda better take care of it all..

Happened to a buddy, got it fixed from Honda

Amazing that you purchase a product that has a sticker on the rear fender that says " This Honda is sold as is and has no warranty from defects " and yet you expect Honda to take care of it.

Too much chain torque on those sprocket bolts bro

I have to say the frame and swing arm in the Honda look "cheap"...dunno if the aluminum is a different series ir what...

Had a KTM 450 SX leak oil from the bottom case, seepage, and after almost 6 months, KTM replaced the whole bottom end free of charge. I've had other issues over the years with them and they took care of it. That is one of the main reasons I buy orange.

Hello Dealer I'd like another bike please...

Funny you mention that. When I took my shiny new KTM apart to paint the frame orange, I was surprised at how well greased everything was from the factory. It's almost as if the people assembling them gave a shit about what they were doing unlike many other brands I have owned. Also, the factory powdercoat was bulletproof, couldn't even sandblast the stuff off. Again, unlike any steel framed Japanese bike I have ever owned where half the paint flaked off of the welds after a few rides

Noticed that my subframe had separated on the left side and cracked on the right side after todays race, no crashes.
Also overheated the engine, ran it dry and bent my cylinder head, good times

I blame the stupid air forks

Nope. Google Yamaha frame cracks. There are plenty there.

The older I get, the faster I was.

Any tire rubbing rear fender marks? Did you change the engine hangers or unbolt part of gas tank? (I think I remember some guys doing that to their 17's).

Damn on the engine. Did you race moto or hare scramble?

Psst..... Honda 450's don't have air forks either.

Plus, everyone knows that Yamaha frames crack because they put the motor in backwards.
