Has anyone else had trouble with them breaking? I still havent taken it apart but they got that limp dick syndrome right now and was wondering if anyone has advice for an easier way to install them. When myself and the team at Houston Motorsports assembled the bike it took 2 of us to slide that pin in there.

Appreciate the help...

They are tough but I watched a video on you tube of a certain way to install them when I did mine and it was fairly easy after that.

The new MXA has pics showing the way they should be installed.

Different than 13 models? Long nose Vice Grips made it oh so easy after getting my ass kicked for an hour...Laughing

You can also use the old style spring, takes a bit of effort to get them in but they dont break

again, MXA has pics. Has nothing to do with light weight. Some bike came with springs installed wrong. Easy fix

Funny how people bash MXA every chance they get yet the factory certified dealer techs are putting them together wrong for $500.00.LaughingLaughingLaughing
Bash the factory trained techs that the dealers pay $10/hr to build the bikes and charge you $500 to uncrate it.

First one I put together I had to look at it awhile to figure our the way it goes. There is a left and right spring also.

I had both spring break twice in the first 3 hours on my 2016 Ktm 450. Switched to the Older spring and hasn't happened again.

That may be because my seat got broken in a crash and it has been back ordered since the first week of October. These "light" bikes havent held up well for me so far. Thinking of trading it in on a 16 kx450f.

I dont understand how you made the older springs fit? They are a different design

You have to clamp the spring shut with a pair of vice grips. I didn't think it would work either until someone put a picture of the old style spring in their bike. It took two people for us to do it.

Here are the 15 springs on my 16 350xcf. They fit just fine, my 16 spring lasted 5 hrs before it broke.

Anyone paying $500 to have a bike setup is mentally deficient or just a terrible negotiator...

Hey man, the dealer has to make a living and he can't do it without charging $500.00 to install the bars, footpegs and checking the oil. Hater's gonna hate.

At the shop I work at, you can put the '15 springs in easy, but with the '16's you have to have 2 people do it.

My footpegs have held up but I keep breaking my rear brake pedal spring. I've gone through three in 18 hours on my 17 250sx. Anyone else have this issue?

You need the older spring, from i believe 2015 and older. Its a round spring and holds up better than the oval shape one. Also, it helps if you put the lower spring tab in from the outside. If you put it in from the inside of the brake pedal, your boot can hit it and push it out or break it.

I take that back, 4 in 10 because my dealer sent me a pack of 3 after the first broke and I have none left.
