Good luck on the beaches next year.

Mad respect from me as a representative of sand-unfriendly nation. Cool

That EMX 250 2-stroke series just doesnt make sense anymore. Maybe its time to get rid of it and add more rounds for WMX or EMX open.

Agree. I’m sorry if this offends somebody, but the 2t class just seems more like a hobby class. Yeah it’s a cool and fun class to have, but what exactly is there to gain in that class even if you win? The bikes are allowed in both EMX250 and EMX Open, so if you really want to ride them you can choose to ride one of those classes or even both.

I think the Open class could have a future to it. The top guys aren’t any slouches, but they probably don’t have the resources to do a full MXGP season but this could still be a way to showcase their speed and at least get fill in rides. I think it could certainly attract even more talent next year if things normalize a bit.

Also very good performance for the newly crown EMX250 champion Thibault Benistant in R2...👍

He is very impressive. I am quite interested to see if he can do this in a full season as well. We saw vd Moosdijk get a podium in a wildcard last year as well. He had a bunch of podium finishes this year as well, but was far from a championship contender.
Well, one of the things Thibault is know for here in France is that he is a REALLY hard worker...

Any details why is Thibault gone after wednesday?

btw. I kinda find it sad to see Jerre and HondaSR split. I feel like he put them on the MX map with his awesome performances - especially in Argentina.

Hopefully he will land a ride for atleast 2021. The retirements are too many lately ... i mean Lieber & Desalle is huge blow for team Belgium and with Jerre & Strijbos being in the air it sure looks even dimmer. Unsure

JVB said he will retire from GPs before he got that HondaSR team setup for him.
He is one of riders who been there for ever and could be looking other way.

Tom Vialle originally set the 4th time in time practice, but got docked to last gatepick (29th) due to stopping on track.
Michael Sander got docked 3 places aswell, he'll line up as 9th.

I wonder whether a 'lesson learnt' from today for future races will be for top riders to at least do a 2nd good time. Vialle's 2nd quickest time was so slow that he dropped from 4th to almost last - had he put in a similar lap time for his 2nd quickest time he would be much better off in grid position.

The start is everything on this track, especially now when it's this smooth.

Febvre absolutely fuming a couple of times when he couldn't get by Van Doninck and later by Desalle. Wonder what his problem is. It's not that they were blocking him excessively or anything, but they ain't going to set the door open either.

Well deserved titles for both.

Lets see if people will actually see Gajser as a title favorite next year...

Anyone know what happened to Gajser's clutch or lever or pedal or something?

How about people acknowleding that we are currently in the TG243 era.

Last couple of years people talk about Herlings and to a lesser degree Cairoli as the King, but reality is that TG has won 3 MXGP titles in the past 5 years, and 4 titles in the past 6 years.

Cairoli has 1 MXGP title in the past 6 years.
Herlings 1 MXGP and 1 MX2 title in the same period.

Red flag. Looks like Van Horebeek's leg got stuck in Gajser's rear wheel.

Van Horebeek is the rider down, he got stuck in Gajsers wheel. Absolutely horrific scenes.

Said no clutch on the post race interview.

Amazing that he regrouped and still got the fastest lap and came from 13th to 2nd. Great champ.

Van Horebeek is okay, nothing is broken. He just has a gash on his leg from Gajser's chain. He'll be heading home tonight to witness the birth of his twin boys any day now.

Thank god. Just saw what happened and it was absolutely gut wrenching. Looked like a knee or ankle or tib/fib or something would be completely done after something like that.
