'15 & '17 US MXdN cancelled dates vs proposed 2018 US MXdN ?

Edited Date/Time 11/9/2017 8:34am

Racer-X notice from Sept 28th 2012 stating that the 2015 MXdN would take place at Glen Helen: http://racerxonline.com/2012/09/28/2015-mxon-to-be-held-at-glen-helen

The 2015 MXdN didn't take place in the US. Neither did the more recently promised 2017 US MXdN.

Now it has been announced that the 2018 MXdN will take place in the US at Redbud.

What are the chances that the 2018 race is held in the US? After missed '15 & '17 US MXdN dates & the Gatorback USGP being moved at the last minute lets hope that the Redbud MXdN 2018 date holds up.

Is everyone confident that the 2018 MXdN will take place at Redbud? (perhaps there are signs that indicate a better chance of the race actually taking place in the US for 2018 versus past years which were cancelled)

With the level of cooperation between MX Sports and Youthstream these days, I'd say it's better than it's been in the past.

Being based more central than on the left coast i can only expect a massive turnout. I'll be there. Now if it was in cali, no way would i go.

Still a guy would be a dummy if He bought or booked anything He couldn't get a refund on more than 30 -40 day's out.

The track record is pretty solid on things changing.

Due to my job I will need to make plans to attend as early as possible (my wife sorrily won't be able to attend though she would like to trust me) - otherwise I wouldn't worry about it so early on but on one hand I'd like to begin to think about arrangements and schedule time away from work but on the other hand I'm not quite ready based on previous "changes".

Hopefully Guy B is correct in that the cooperation with MX Sports will keep the 2018 US date on track versus the previous 2015 and 2017 cancellations. Thanks for that positive POV!

Gatorback fell through because the land the track was on was leased, and the track operator and land owners butted heads. Red Bud (the Ritchie family) has sole ownership of the facility, etc. so there should be no problem there.

Glen Helen was scrapped because there was low MXGP turnout there recently, and if I’m remembering correctly, the promoter didn’t want to get hosed again by shelling out cash to Youthstream just to looose money on low turnout. Red Bud is consistently the most attended MX race, and nearly every east cost round is packed. Expect this to be the biggest MXDN ever. There shouldn’t be an attendance or money problem here....

Not only will it be cancelled/moved...the US isn't even going to race it in 18.

South Bend Indiana is the closest

When I went, I flew into Chicago and drove to South Bend, I think 2-3 hr drive wasn't bad.

The crowd is going to be massive, you may want to book early.
I announce some amateur stuff there and since it has been posted, people (who don't even normally go to the national) have been telling me that they are going to this event for sure.
This event is going to be nuts!
Plan accordingly.

I'm planning as if it's set in stone. I have to book my vacation a year ahead of time if I actually want to get the days off. I'll be camping at the track so I don't really need to worry about hotels and luckily it's within driving distance for me.

Needless to say I'm ecstatic it's finally in the US!

Oh just do it. Tongue At this point, I think the only way we won't have it in 2018 is if "Rocketman" blows up Red Bud...

Attendance wont be an issue, that's for sure. It will definitely be a home crowd for USA

How/when can you reserve a camping site?

I haven't heard anything lately regarding MXdN 2018 so hopefully it's still on tack for Red Bud! We decided to make official plans if all is still set by April as it seems like if we can get to the Spring w/o the event being cancelled as happened in the past all should be set! Can't wait!

Once the tickets are up I will be booking the flights, I don't doubt a decent sized partisan crowd

What are the chances a Red Bud MXDN would net a lot of $? Is Luongo involved?

There’s your answer (minus force majeur or similar).
