Done be afraid on the mid 2000s Honda’s, they can usually be had cheaper because they’re not exactly benchmark for performance. For a first big bike they will be more than sufficient though and parts are much cheaper compared to say a Kawi or Suzuki, I’d recommend staying away from those for that reason. Realistically though, you’re soooooo much better off paying more up front for a nice bike than buying a turd and trying to get the thing working right, it’s just frustrating and a money pit. 1100 probably won’t get you too far, but if you can save up a bit longer and get to the $2000 range you’d be a lot better off.
