125's & OEM's

I keep hearing why a legitimate 125 series won't ever see the light of day in US because the OEM's won't allow it, i.e; Honda, Suzuki & Kawasaki. Why don't they kick up a stink in Europe? Over here, KTM & Husqvarna dominate the EMX125 class, a Yamaha is actually is leading the championship.

Why is it so hard to run a 125 support class for the up & coming riders in the US?

They don't allow it in the US as it's the premier series

The OEM thing mainly applies to running 250cc 2t and 4t in the same class. As far as a 125 series, I think it's more of the limitations of the 1 day schedule with live TV and the lack of support to run a full series across the whole US since most privateers aren't making money running outdoors even if they are in the top 20 in the 250 or 450.

its more a side show in the US as they run a 1 day programme, meaning there is very little time for support classes like 125's or woman's,

it works better with the world champ 2 day model, where the emx and womens classes have one race on Saturday,

also the US has a amateur circuit, with 125 classes for up and coming riders,

That is the most obvious and best argument against DC's position I've seen. This is not about DC hate, to the contrary, it is ammunition to help him get the job done. Well Stated, Thank You.

This year is a good start, hopefully it grows into something more like a real series, for youths, with no homologation rules so boutique brands are always welcome.

We would need to go back to the old 2 day format to do it properly. I believe there is enough time in the day to run 3 classes with a little restructuring , but they don't seem interested in doing that. So for now... it'll just have to stay as an exhibition race.

And there goes Jeffro. One of God's own prototypes. A super high-powered mutant of some kind never even considered for mass production. Too weird to live, and too rare to die.

We have a support series, and they race factory supported 125's. It's just not tied to the pro nationals.

A 125 class in the states would be nice like the GPs

Surely it would be better to run on the same tracks as the pros do, gets them exposure on a bigger scale? Obviously it'll have to happen on a 2 day format.

There is a lot of history and tradition behind the big amateur nationals, and plenty of exposure. I don't see them going away any time soon.

Theyre already tired of will hahn and rv dominating the 125s

It would also be even more expensive than running the current amateur series , then the nationals as well ,

Emx is a good money earner for the gps , the number of riders paying entry fees must help the bottom line
