Had a go on a 250 crf 2019 , it's first time iv ridden a 4st

Wish I hadn't.... Only done 3 laps and took it fairly easy, as it was a pals bike
10~15 secs a lap quicker and less tiring than the 2st ๐Ÿ˜

Any of u boys compared the 2 back to back

How long of a lap was it to see that type of decrease? Iโ€™m a c class racer but on my 125 can get within a second or two of my 250f on a 130-2 minute track

Approx 3 min a lap

I very Rarely race, maybe 2 x a year after a 28yr break, but when I do,usually make B (A B C D) group which is a mostly 4st and usually hover around 10th, until the Last lap, when fatigue kicks in, then usually loose few places

If I was racing regularly, then 4st would be no brainer for me,

Depends. On a slick hard-packed track, I'm much faster on a 250F because it tracks thru the corner. On a loamy track, I'm faster on the 250F because it has the power to not get bogged down. On a medium, flowy track, I can do okay on the 125. This past weekend, I LitPro'ed myself on the KX250f vs the Husky TC125, specifically to see. I was about 1-3 seconds/lap faster on a 2:30 track on the 250F and the speed was in the corners. I came in a little faster and was a little faster right at the apex. After the apex, the Husky was actually faster sometimes- acceleration was faster on the 2-stroke but I can't carry the same speed into and thru a hard packed corner.

First time I rode the 250F on a track, my coach called me over "you're faster on the 250f". I rode over to the "scrambles" track.... no jumps, just nice turns... and practiced a bit. Then I called my 16 yr old over on his KTM 150 SX. On my TC125, I have to ride as hard as I can to keep up with him and he'll walk away on the straights. On the 250F, I _passed_ him- in a sweeper- and when I did, I looked over and waved. All of a sudden HE couldn't keep up. A few weeks later, he had his own 250F ('18 KTM) and I'm back in the dust.

For me, it depends on the track. But generally, I'm consistently faster on a 250F. But there have been tracks where I was slightly faster on the 125 (144) for whatever reason.

with same rider, more than likely you'll turn a faster lap on a 250f.

its simply easier to be smooth and consistent and you wont struggle on big jumps or deep loam

If track is fairly straight, the Maico 700cc is usually quickest.
Im fastest on a KLx110 in a backyard tighty.
Otherwise, depends on so many factors.
Size of human, aggressiveness, tires, suspension.
What fits you and track/conditions for lap times. But, fun isnt always connected to that either, so depends on what you're after.

Way back, I had a 2000 KX-250. My friend had a 99 WR-400 with revalved/resprung suspension. We were the only ones at this Vet track in Madras OR. He had a stop watch and, I was consistently 4 secs a lap faster on his heavy ass enduro bike. So, I traded him straight across.
