Herlings said the german track doesn't suit him well. Why should this track suit him better? Also hard pack track isn't it? Anyone knows?

I think lacapelle is very similar to germany but who knows.
I thinks that its a little bit of mental game
As much i want Prado to be the mxgp champion, i think that Herlings is going to be this year champion.
He recovered so many points and his result are very regular.

Prado is in acording to a ktm PR but only to try to not loose so many points

Classic French hard pack.

That a track doesn't suit Herlings dosen't mean he can't win on it. Herlings won the pre-season international there last year albeit sans Gajser and won all 3 motos.

It’s more a flow and layout thing. He always kind of “struggled” and also got injured at Teutschental in the past.

Everybody got a track they didn’t really like or flow good when they come there. It’s not about the surface, just the flow and after all those years probably mental to.

I believe Teutschental is one of those tracks where it’s hard to make a differences. Like anyone can go fast. For Herlings as a medium starter it’s always a struggle to work his way to the front on such tracks. I think that also plays a role in his opinion about a track.

It is one of the worst tracks on the calendar. Since they changed it for the nations in 2013 it has been awful. It’s narrow, twisty, it has no flow or anywhere to really pass. I’m sure if someone was keeping stats on the amount of passes per race, Teutschenthal would at or very near the bottom every year

I agree completely with you, the old track was way better. But stuff like that happens and it’s the same for everybody.

Personally I would like a MXGP at Gaildorf way more. Badass track IMO.

I have very little knowledge of the tracks in Germany, but i would think there has to be a better track in Germany that could host a GP?

|

Current fleet of two wheeled vehicles:
- Yamaha YZ450F 2020
- Suzuki GSX-R 600 K7 track spec
- Canyon Sender CF 8.0 2018 Downhill
- White GX Pro 20 Gravel

Looks like this track is also a bit narrow. Lets hope for some good racing tomorrow.

They are surprisingly short on possible venues for GP’s. I think Teutschenthal and Gaildorf are really the only two possible options right now. I think Gaildorf would be a much better track for a GP, it’s still a great track with a lot of history.

|

10/9/2021 4:19 AM

The track looks like loads of fun to ride, but not sure if it’s gonna produce the best racing since it’s quite narrow which might make passing a bit difficult. At least it isn’t a rut fest like Teutchenthal.

|

10/9/2021 4:43 AM

Frustrating race for Bobby Bruce there, he looked in control and let it slip. Nice recovery though

|

10/9/2021 4:45 AM

I think the track is lovely

|

10/9/2021 4:54 AM

I think it’s a great track for 125 racing especially. It was great to see some of the guys squaring off the turns to make a pass instead of using the ruts.

|

10/9/2021 4:59 AM

Narrow tracks = good racing.

|

10/9/2021 5:34 AM

Horgmo must be kicking himself. Had a golden opportunity to close right on to Lapucci in the championship.

|

10/9/2021 5:38 AM

Those metal posts and fences next to racingline look so dangerous. Corner before finish line looks like someone will hit it and it will end bad. They could have least make little more room for racing if this is top race of our sport?

|

After the 2nd 125 moto, they showed a bit of an overview of the venue.

There was the Footy field with the track weaving around it. Well, dwarfing it.

Heck, you can see it in the header picture of the Go Pro Lap, a few posts back.

You know, the Footy field being, essentially, the area that most SX tracks are on.

Just give that a bit of thought.

And, we have people, so often, going on about how narrow / tight this track and others are.

Yet, that Footy field size represents what some people regard as the area that's just perfect for the top of the sport......

F**k. I find so much of the bitching about GP tracks just so bloody laughable.

Personally I kind of like the tighter an twistier tracks a bit more, but maybe that’s because I grew up racing during the late ‘70 to early ‘90.

The modern tracks looks more like road racing tracks with dirt than proper MX tracks, but maybe that’s just an old farts opinion 😂

|

10/9/2021 7:27 AM

Guyon has started to show glimpses of his potential these last two races.

Couple of years back he often started poor and would set blistering laps to try chase down Guadagnini!
