He did not qualify for the main moto's. He was 46th qualifier... about 1.4 seconds off 40th place.

Tye Hames rode Sleeter's 450.

Yep, Sleeter may have missed out on qualifying for the motos aboard his 250 SX, but was still stoked with the results turned in by Alessi and Searle, as he'd done tons of the development riding on both of those bikes.
