100% goggles with some dirt in the eyes?

Hey guys just seeing if anyone out there is experiencing chronic dirt in eyes while running 100% goggles. A buddy brought it up to me yesterday at the track (he also had a a brand new set of 100%) and I wonder if anyone else is having this issue or maybe I just don't know how to wear goggles? I've been riding and racing 17 years now and the last couple years seems to be the worst running 100%.

Are your eyes really close together? That may be the problem.

Yeah someone gave me a pair a year ago. After using them one time at Cahuilla, I made the joke "100% dirt in your eye" (Glad we are on the same comedic page) Gave them away that day

I have the same problem with dirt (not dust) and I have 2 sets of 100%... I have tried normal tight, loose and tight strap.. and overly tight works the best..

And my eyes are not close together LaughingLaughing

Never had an issue with mine.

Are they 100%(excuse the pun) pushed against your face? I mean is your helmet opening big enough for them to sit against your face completely?

Are your eyes really far apart? Maybe that's the issue.

I've been running 100% for awhile now and no issues.

Do you have eyes? If yes, it is possible to get dirt in them

It’s rare I get dirt inside the goggles with 100%. I had a bigger problem with the Scott Voltage and Prospect frames.

I'm pretty happy with my 100%'s. Every once in a while ill get some dirt in my eyes, but it could be wrong knocking some inside of the goggles when putting them on.

Speaking of goggles, ML512... when are you going to finally pay up for the Vital MX 450 shootout photos that I provided to you (rushed, as you requested, even though I was busy with college work and work) back in September but was never compensated for?

I've had the same issue with 100%, every pair I've tried. I really feel like its more how it fits with my helmet though, not necessarily a goggle problem. I love my helmet though so I've switched goggles.

I just got my first pair. I'll have to see how they are this weekend. Or not see depending on how much dirt I get in my eyes.

I had the same issue. I thought I was crazy. I looked all around the foam and I couldn't find any tears or anything that would cause it. All I could come up with was that they seem to have a little larger frame than most other goggles so maybe when I was putting them on over my helmet I was knocking some dirt into them? I switched to EKS and haven't had the issue since.

I bought whatever the cheap model is a couple years back and they have always had that problem too. And the tear off post fell out. They are now my backup goggles.

I also had this issue. I pretty much sold my 100% goggle because of it. Will only wear Scott Prospect and Oakley airbrake from now on.

I have never had dirt in my 100% googles. Are you cleaning the brim of your helmet everytime before you put your googles on ? Because if not then that is a sure way to get dirt in your googles

Thanks for responses guys, a few other buddies I got in contact with have had the same problem. All of them wearing Bell helmets. Time for some different goggles

only if I don't clean them and theres a bit of dirt trapped from a previous moto. If I clean them before I ride there's no issue and they are great goggles. just gotta be 100% sure theres nothing inside when you put them on Wink

First moto with them I am thinking what's going here. Sure enough dust was getting through.

I also wear a Bell moto 9. I don't know how the Star Racing yamaha team makes it work. They also run the combo Bell / 100%. Maybe they run custom goggles.

I think there’s just too many variables in shell shapes and face shapes for one goggle to work for all people. I’ve been running them for years and don’t have a problem with dust getting in but I do think the new racecraft plus seals a little better with the thicker 4 layer foam.

^^ 100% true. I think the majority of people don’t completely clean their googles and helmet brim after each moto. They’re also probably looking for an excuse to switch brands. I have never had dirt in my 100% googles. I also clean them and my helmet after every moto.

I've been wearing goggles for 30 years and never have problems with getting dirt in them. Not trying to bash 100%, but it's not because people don't know what they are doing.

Yep I ran the accuris for a full season in 2016 in off road and moto events. 6 sets and all had the same issue. Had constant problems with getting dirt and sand in the goggles. Probably fine if you’re just a practice guy but wouldn’t use them ever again for a racing situation. Switched to Scott Prospects and no more issues.
