Interpreting jungle drums for this event gets tough, because you have to be really accurate in your count of the beats. So far it sounds like...

Bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp... (Tedesco)

Bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp... (Dungey)

Bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, bomp, diddy-diddy bomp... (Grant or Goerke) that little drum solo at the end threw me, but I'm going with Grant.

Imagine trying to figure out the jungle drums if Alessi was still in the running. Wink

Josh Grant should be a given. He may hit the deck quite a bit, but I think he could hold it together at the Des Nations. He's much faster than IT or Goerke.

Cairoli couldn't beat Stewart in chess....let alone anything to do with motorcycles.

Maybe we should really throw everyone off and send the '13 team now: Dungey, Barcia, Tomac

Or better yet, the '16 team: Tomac, Anderson, Fiolek.

I am joking you know.

It'll be interesting in a couple years when Eli makes the jump up...then I'll have shot race photos of two generations of Tomacs at the pro level. Smile

Slow-Desco definitely should not be going.

should be Dungey, Stewart, and Barcia.

Rv, or Alessi if healthy in place of Barcia.

Usually you let others point out your ageing Gibby.

He'd make a good (very) wildcard pick, but I don't see it happening.

Ha! You mean like when they put the back of my head in the post-race video from Millville? "Hey, who's the old guy....oh, wait...that's me." Wink

WOW, that's one weak team. I don't really care at all about the MXdN, and I guess some of the racers don't either. Tedesco?? Really??

Tedesco has gone previously and will do fine.
What day do they climb on stage, at Loretta's, and make an official interpretation of the jungle drums?Blink

Tedesco's been there, he knows how the event (and the team aspect) works. He'll be solid.

I just threw J-Law out there cause someone had to. How ironic would it be if he went and won and became the face of US MX?!

I think that Josh Grant has earned it the way he has stepped up this year.

Is Tedesco really faster now than he was in 05 or 06? Just cause he knows how the team concept works is a reason to send him?? How bout sending the fastest guys and let them figure things out?
Goerke or Grant?? Is it even a question?? I guess it is if Grant doesn't want to go. Guess James doesn't want to go.
In this economy, sending a team has got to be rough, sending a B-C team has got make finding sponsors really tough. I don't think most casuel mx fans care about the MXdN race at all. Hell, I'm a hardcore mx fan and I don't care. Good Luck to whoever does go, come back safe.

1. Dungey

2. Tedesco

3. Short

Not a great team.

Grant has great raw speed, but he's too erratic. He either augers or wins.

Let's hope Eli only inherits the racing genes and not the hair-style genes from pops.

I am just thankful it looks like we are going. We can still win and should not assume that just because JS, RV are not going we are capable of winning. All 3 riders mentioned are capable and on the MXDN stage they will rise to the occasion.

with out stewart Dungey Grant and Tedesco is your best team Grant is as fast as RV on his day i believe Dungey is the fastest US MX2 rider and Tedesco probably alongside Short your next best guy plus he has won races this year and been to the MXDN before which is why he probably gets the nod over short. It is still a strong team with 3 good riders and having 3 good riders is what wins the MXDN thats why the US have been strong in the past.

The fact that alot of you are panicing about how week the team is just shows that bar stewart the US rdiers are no better than the rest of the top talent from around the world.

still think that US is the favorite (slightly). Dungey, IT And Grant are pretty solid riders. They might not win all the races but consistency can get you a long way in MXDN.
