So I have this 2006 Kx250 2 stroke sitting in my shop. It was the last 250 sold off the showroom floor in that year, where we live. The bike might have 10-12 hours on it since new.

It is fun to ride but I just never ride any more and when I do, I will ride the 450 most times.

My question is, what is the general consensus on the looks of these older bikes? Do I leave it factory or do I do an upgraded plastic change to make it look more modern?

Personally I don’t like the updates to today’s styling. Not really a big fan of it or the hoops you need to jump through to make it happen. I’m old though. I also can’t stand the yoga outfit that now is called riding gear. The front fender is probably the most noticeable change and that’s easy.

MC’s 500 with a new front fender. I still like the old style much better.

Leave it stock. The 03-07’s look so good, in my opinion. The updated kit looks funky to me.

This one’s an 05 and I love it.

Some of the conversions look good but it’s usually the ‘17 kxf with custom sub frames and such. The stock look is timeless.

If that thing is as low hour as you say it is, leave it!
Keep it OEM!

Great bikes- I had 02 & 03 on four strokes and went back to an 04 KX250 for 2004, loved it and went faster on it than I did the 03 YZ450!

I'd keep it factory and spend time dialing in forks/triples and tweaking the engine a bit. I wouldn't put a new style plastic kit on a bike with that few hours.

I only like the look of the new front fender / numberplate. Restyle kits look like trash. Green frames look good!going back to silver rims and mag color hubs soon.numberpl

I went green frame on my '07 as well. Your bike looks really good, can't wait to see with silver rims laced up.
