Things I noticed: jumps were peaked, 2 strokes create mistakes, bowl berms, RC/JS/CR were the days. Thanks Gary Bailey https://youtu.be/LPrFmNg-NDs

Cool
Only James solved the awkward table section. On/off, on/off looked faster than jumping over the tables.

Those are Ricky whoops by the way.

Awesome! Great stuff. What i noticed was how soft Carmichael's forks appear. cool track. it would be great if they would do a 2 stroke class for supercross. We would all love it i'm sure.

Phenomenal track! There is a noticeable difference in the amount of dirt and trajectory of the jumps. Couple that with less potent bikes and there you have it.

The jumps are so close to the exit of the corners. We need more of that.

I miss watching James ride, the stuff he could do that just blew your mind.

What is funny growing up about 2 miles from that stadium. The dirt was pure concrete that was stored in the back parking lot year after year. And the echo of the 2 strokes even with a hole in the roof.

The dragon back was deeper and taller than most we see and the rhythm had a bit more height variation in the middle, and the tables were steeper and maybe a touch taller, but beyond that, I actually don't agree. I think you're seeing dry dirt and 2 strokes more than a better track. Whoops were small there, the berms were not big taller bowls, and modern 4 strokes with modern tech would make it look much simpler.

You are right on what they need, big 180 bowls, tighter-steeper-taller-closer rhythms, and slower speeds overall. That's why Arlington 3 was good. Listen to the interviews from the riders, the table over 2 and other jumps were bigger than they are used to. Not bigger in distance (besides the table over single over table), but in height because of steepness (likely not even actual height of take off or landing).

I am thinking Dirt Wurx heard the positive comments and will continue the trend and that's a huge win for all of us.

Go back to 02-04 I believe and you'll find much more challenging tracks than that one.

Bikes are visibly slower.
And yet way more entertaining to watch them ridden hard.

Whoops may not have been big by 05 standards, but they ran into a dragon’s back!
Now all we get is lame jumper whoops, usually followed by a 90* corner....

Two thoughts:

1: How cool was it when the factory kawi and Yamaha bikes actually looked like showroom stock units?!

2. That era of Fox and Thor gear was epic. The black and gold gear Ricky was in is one of my favorite sets of all time.

What a cool video. Crazy how much faster and better James looks. It didn’t look like Ricky or Travis were even close to his speed. But like Cooper Webb, Ricky figures it out.

Makes me sad that many never got to see James ride in person. One of the most impressive athletes in any sport. When he was on it you could just feel his flow. For me, since James left the sport hasn’t been the same. I respect what Cooper can do but I can’t stand his personality or riding style. If Kenny can regroup I’m looking forward to seeing what he can do. Jett Lawrence has also made the races a bit mire exciting lately.

Again. All we have now is a traveling circus. It’s a 2 wheel version of the WWE

James was unreal in person. We may never see that level of flash again.

05 was probably the technical peak of the sport. James, Ricky and Chad on 2 strokes was the end of an era. The only way it could have been better was if MC from 2000 was on the track with them.
